Any breastfeeding pregnant mums?

I’m 4 weeks pregnant and breastfeeding my 2 year old. I just wondered when other mums found that it became sore/painful? I did fall pregnant last year but it ended in mmc at 11 weeks. My milk had drastically reduced by then but I can’t remember when it started to hurt? Just want to be prepared Smile

To be honest I was kind of hoping my toddler would self wean while I was pregnant but doesn't look like she will. We've stuck it out this far so I will tandem feed if she chooses to continue to want breastmilk. She generally gets one feed a day when she is settling for her daytime nap. She will also have a nightime feed if she is unwell, overtired or particularly upset over something but that is only very occasionally. I never fully dried up, but my supply did dramatically reduce.

You absolutely don't need to reduce feeds or wean if you don't want to. Just like breastfeeding your first, your body acts on a supply and demand basis. Breastfeeding your toddler as well as your baby should encourage your breasts to make enough milk to supply them both (of course there are always exceptions to this where a woman is unable to breastfeed due to genuine problems with supply). My milk has already turned into colostrum in preparation for the baby's arrival, and after the birth (all being well) my milk will come back in.

I'm 25 wks pregnant and still kind of breastfeeding my DC (12 months), who hasn't been very keen on the breast since about 9mnths (not sure if that's a reaction to pregnancy/milk changing - I don't express so have no idea if it's changed - or just the routine change of me going back to work/childcare) - will have it for comfort and at night, but only briefly, and never proactively asks for the breast. I was planning to tandem feed and am interested to see how DC responds to having the new baby feed!

Anyway, no pains/soreness here that could be attributed to pregnancy - just the occasional biting incident...

I'm 6 weeks pg with DC2, DS is 2y2m and still loves bf. He doesn't feed nearly as often any more, just a couple of times a day, but he really likes the comfort and closeness. I'll carry on till he self-weans, whether that's pre- or post-birth of DC2. It's good for him and for me, with proven health benefits for both. I totally get why people don't want to do it though, and it's completely fine to wean if that's what's best for you. Growing a baby is bloody hard work!

I have a 17 month old and am 17 weeks. I was really sore for the first trimester, it kind of made my teeth on edge. It's fine now but my milk supply has really lowered and my toddler gets very cross about it. He now has a beaker of cow's milk first and last thing and just comfort feeds to sleep for a nap. I do feel guilty but he was getting so frustrated and this makes it all easier.

DS is having cow's milk too @Junobug, I stopped him feeding for a week to lower my supply so I was able to get pregnant (IVF) so he still has that and uses me for comfort rather than his main source of milk.
