I am getting induced on Sunday morning I'll be 37+6 weeks pregnant. I just wanted to know others experience with being induced. I've been told it could even take up to 3 to 4 days to actually give birth once I'm started off on the Sunday and just really hope it's not so common for it to take that long.
What did you have to induce your labour and how long did it take until the baby was born?

I was induced at 37+4 due to small baby.
Pessary at 5am and was 1cm dilated. Another pessary at 1.30pm and they couldn't break my waters as cervix was posterior. Some very light period pains around 6pm onwards then they broke my waters at 9.30pm and I was 3cm. All hell broke loose and she was born at 11.50pm.
I'd recommend gas and air if they need to break your waters as I found this really painful. Overall a speedy experience!

I had induction 8 weeks ago at 41 weeks. They broke my waters at 10am on the Sunday, I walked to my room and they put me on the drip. Had epidural at Around 2pm, read and hung out with husband and baby came just after midnight!

It was a pleasant experience!

I was induced at 41+3. I was 1cm dilated when I had the pessary at 8am on a Sunday morning. My cervix was still very thick though so I was warned I could be there a while. I spent the whole day walking roind the hospital grounds and bouncing on a birthing back. By 5:30pm my waters had broken, I had meconium liquor so was rushed straight to labour ward. I was 2cm dilated. My contractions started pretty much as soon as my waters broke but weren't regular enough by 10pm (although the monitor wasn't picking them up properly) so I was put on the drip. The drip was pretty intense and got me from 4cm at 10pm to 10cm at about 3am. Baby was born at 5:13am on the Monday.

@newbabyyy2019
Forgot to mention, I ended up having an epidural as gas and air and the pain injection they gave (can't remember the name but it began with a p?) Didn't even make a difference once the drip got going. I always said I would NEVER have an epidural as I was terrified of the idea of it, but actually it was fine, I didn't feel any pain when they inserted it and it made contractions so much more bearable and a lot shorter. The worst thing was sitting on the side of the bed for them to insert it, it was not a great position for contractions!
