34 weeks, maybe labour?

I've had BHs on and off for the last 2 months. Last night they were very intense (I'm still having then they only stopped for about 10-15 months will getting the children ready). I've had so much pressure down there, it hurts to walk. I had a bit of leak yesterday (bit could have been my husband sorry for the TMI!) Also had the tiniest mucusy discharge this morning. I'm sitting at work with tons of pressure pain down there and what feel like contractions but I don't think they have a pattern. Worth going to labour ward?

Worth a call to someone I would think.

scubaprincess · 16/09/2019 09:41

If you're unsure and something doesn't feel right call the number on your notes-I think it's maternity triage. They will tell you what to do or they might ask you to come in for a check. Better to be safe than sorry.

I had pains for a while and found BH were higher up on my stomach, where as real contractions were closer to period pains further down. I'd never experienced contractions before but once it happened I definitely wouldn't ever forget the difference. Is it your first baby?

Mintypea5 · 16/09/2019 09:50

Worth a call to triage just to be safe

Rainbowhairdontcare · 16/09/2019 09:51

No it's my second but never had contractions with my first. She was breech and had a c section.

I'm only hesitant because I've been there before for something similar and it turned out to be nothing. The only difference is that I feel more pressure and they haven't really gone away. And the tiny bit of mucus but I didn't have any just now that I went to the toilet.

Oh and I'm a bit constipated, no idea if that makes a difference

I think if the head is engaged there can be a lot of pressure without it being labour. Once pain starts alongside the tightenings it will definitely be labour! Not harm in calling the hospital though.

WinterRose92 · 16/09/2019 10:09

I think it’s definitely worth a call to see what they say - it wouldn’t be wasting their time or anything, they’re there to help and give advice.

Rainbowhairdontcare · 16/09/2019 10:19

We think he's engaged and that's about it.

I've been bleeding a bit (but could be piles) and well my bump seems to be heavier, like being pulled by gravity.
My DD was born 9 years ago, so this might as well be my first pregnancy!

There's no harm in calling and speaking to them. You won't be wasting their time.
I had BH very regularly throughout my pregnancy. The day I had my DD I had loads of pressure and kept feeling a grinding in my pelvis and just couldn't get comfortable. I put it down to just being heavily pregnant but looking back I was in slow labour all day (I was still in work!) and my contractions started when my waters broke at home later that night.

hormonesorDHbeingadick · 16/09/2019 10:37

That’s quite a lots of symptoms you definitely need to be assessed.

Mintypea5 · 16/09/2019 10:40

Definitely call and get checked. Bleeding could be piles but it might not be. Not worth taking any chances

Rainbowhairdontcare · 16/09/2019 11:18

I'll go after work. Sitting is pretty painful, especially when I have a contraction and the what in the office doesn't help! I'll start to time my contractions too.

I just wasn't a nap.

Also feel like throwing up, but could just be fatigue related

Please do call your midwife, don't wait til later.

Mylittlepony374 · 16/09/2019 12:18

Go to hospital. I had my boy at 34 weeks, similar symptoms.

Mintypea5 · 16/09/2019 12:48

Please don't wait call now

hormonesorDHbeingadick · 16/09/2019 13:24

You are preterm. It’s not ideal for your baby to come now and if you are in labour they will want to try and delay the labour and give you steroids so your baby’s under developed lung have to chance to mature. You need to be seen NOW.

Rainbowhairdontcare · 16/09/2019 14:49

I've been sent to the delivery suite and not triage. We'll leave as soon as I can.

Good luck! Hope everything turns out ok

Hawkmoth · 16/09/2019 18:07

Hope everything is ok OP.

Rainbowhairdontcare · 16/09/2019 18:26

I've been at triage for about an hour. The fetal monitor showed oscillations between 130bpm and 175bpm. Now waiting to be seen by a doctor but no news on what's actually wrong with me. DH thinks it's normal :/

OP posts:
Rainbowhairdontcare · 16/09/2019 18:48

Just had an internal, my cervix is graded and bleeding but MW told me this is normal.

EinsteinsArousedSausagesHCB · 16/09/2019 20:48

Have you been seen by the doctor yet? Hoping all is well.

Rainbowhairdontcare · 16/09/2019 21:00

No doctor in the end... Just the MW was enough. I'm still in pain but baby is head down and possibly engaged
