Bleeding at 17 weeks - advice/reassurance needed?

Yesterday morning I was bleeding significantly, so called midwife and after being passed around the houses, I eventually ended up at a local hospital where I was examined and scanned. The consultant said she could see no obvious cause but it was potentially a low lying placenta. By this point (5h later) I’d stopped bleeding. She didn’t give any advice or follow up info. This morning I’m bleeding again, but lighter - should I follow this up again or is it to be expected?
Has anyone had similar experiences please?

I should add, she said this would be confirmed at 20 wk scan.

Didnt want to read and run- if I were you I would ring them again to make them aware you are bleeding again, you never know they may offer you a scan? If not, for peace of mind cause you book a private scan just to put you at ease until your 20 week one ?

My SIL had bleeding throughout her pregnancy upto 20 weeks Including a huge one at 9 weeks in which she thought she had MC but everything was fine and she had her beautiful baby boy a few weeks ago
Good luck 🌺

I had a massive bleed at 14 weeks and then bleed pretty much every day from 20 weeks to 38 when DS2 was born. Was low lying placenta caused to start but it had moved by 28 weeks. Later bleeds were always unexplained just had to go be checked every time. I was put on a pathway for growth scans because of it.

Thank you both for your responses. I haven’t had anything further since, but have been taking it easy. It’s just quite alarming I think! I will chase up with my own midwife tomorrow too.

Personally I would go to A&E and don't take any chances in pregnancy. Don't want to say more as don't want to stress you out but better to be safe than sorry. Good luck
