Anyone got a recommendation?

Want something that can help me stay on my side, probably, and feel snuggly...

www.amazon.co.uk/QUEEN-ROSE-Pregnancy-Maternity-Replaceable/dp/B06XKYCHD1/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=pregnancy+pillow&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1568360666&sr=8-7

This is the best pillow ever. DP bought it for me when I was about 12 weeks and I'm now 37 weeks and have slept well every night (apart from waking up to go to the toilet occasionally)

LividLaughLove · 13/09/2019 10:16

Wow, that’s huge! Will it fit in a normal double with two of us? 😳

I've bought a dreamgenii one which I'm liking as it has a back part to help stop turning during the night. Having said that the space between the cushions is enough to lie on your back, although I guess the aim is to start on your side and hook one of your legs under the cushion. Once bump is big enough I guess it would be difficult to turn.

Thanks. Any more recommendations? I think I’m going to go and look if Mothercare have any to fondle.

I have a dreamgeni, but like the previous poster at 5 months it's not keeping me on my side, often wake up on my back so wouldn't recommend it!

SweetChillis · 14/09/2019 22:12

I've got a Dreamgenii too, found one in T K Maxx for £20 the other week. I love mine,
It's not too big (which was my concern for most of the pillows) and is super comfortable. I always sleep on my left side anyway so it was more a comfort thing for me Smile

MakeLemonade · 14/09/2019 22:13

I have a bbhugme and it’s expensive but it’s amazing! I actually love it. Gutted it’s taken me until pregnancy #3 to find it.

TheCraicDealer · 14/09/2019 22:44

I have a bbhugme too, it's the tits. Because I'm due at the end of September I knew I'd get hot in bed over the summer, so wanted something that wouldn't heat up like a normal pillow would. The bean filling in the bbhugme stays cool so I haven't overheated at all. They're really expensive but I got it 10% off when I bought it and you can still get similar offers. You can also use it as a feeding pillow or turn it into a donut for baby to lounge in.

I have an everyday V pillow £12 from Dunelm, we have a kingsize bed and couldn't fit one of this huge pregnancy pillows with DH and the bump in!

LividLaughLove · 15/09/2019 11:56

I’ve ordered the Queen Rose one from Amazon. It’s coming today so we’ll see if it fits in the bed!

I have a dreamgenii and to be honest - I am not impressed at all. It may be better suited for shorter women, but for my 5.7 and moderate PGP/SPD - it is just not long nor big enough to make me comfortable. I got another one, completely no name brand in the form of a question mark which works so much better to alleviate pain and provide some comfort during the night.

RedPandaFluff · 05/10/2019 20:36

How are you getting on with the Queen Rose pillow, @LividLaughLove? I'm thinking of getting one so your opinion would be useful!

bubbles1345786 · 05/10/2019 20:43

I have the kinder valley 12 foot maternity pillow from asda. It's wonderful!
It is big but I share a normal double bed with my dh and it's fine for space.

MrBobLobLaw · 05/10/2019 20:44

Another bbhugme addict here! Expensive but has been worth every penny. Used it for my first pregnancy and now for my second. It is so comfy and after I'd given birth it was brilliant as a feeding pillow, bed nest (with supervision), teether and now wrestling toy for DS!
Honestly the best thing I've ever bought!!

YouFightLikeADairyFarmer · 05/10/2019 20:46

I had a dreamgenii first pregnancy and it was useless - I'm 5'10 and had bad PGP so might be fine otherwise. This time round I have this one: www.dunelm.com/product/dorma-full-forever-bolster-medium-support-pillow-1000047412?searchTerm=body%20pillow. It's keeping its shape really well, and is so much more comfortable - and obviously takes up less space than an enormous one that goes behind you as well.

LolaSmiles · 05/10/2019 20:46

I've got the dreamgenii one. It's been fairly good, but I do find that as someone who moves a lot during the night it can cause me to wake up on my back still.

RedPandaFluff · 05/10/2019 21:03

Oh I'd love to get a bbhugme, @MrBobLobLaw (are you still writing your law blog, by the way? 😆) but it's really pricey. I don't think the dreamgenii would suit me as I switch sides so often during the night, it would be a pain swapping it each time. So a u-shaped pillow is probably best; I'm just wary of Amazon these days as quality seems to be hit and miss.

Mamabear12 · 05/10/2019 21:45

I’ve got bbhugme too and love it. But I don’t use it to keep me from rolling over. Don’t think any do that really. But as support and comfort and later will use it for breastfeeding.

LividLaughLove · 05/10/2019 22:20

@redpandafluff I love him so much I’ve named him Roger.

@LividLaughLove 😆

I'm going to take that as a ringing endorsement (and hope Mr Fluff doesn't get too jealous . . . 😄)

Goose4 · 06/10/2019 08:09

I love my dreamgenii, I'm actually a bit surprised that other people are unhappy with it! I'm only 20 weeks pregnant and am 5'4, so maybe that has something to do with it though. I like that it doesn't take up too much room in the bed, and I think it's been helping with lower back and hip pain.

Also, it's hard to beat for the price!

LolaSmiles · 06/10/2019 08:42

goose
Because I'm quite narrow framed and roll around a lot in the night, I can end up flat in the back bit and the cushions either side of my armpits.

I really like it though and it's helped. It's more of a user problem than a pillow problem. Grin

Goose4 · 06/10/2019 08:59

Yes, I can see how that might happen @lola!
I have mine quite low down, with the pillows at my lower back and under my bump, so maybe that's helping too
