Hi, am 34 weeks pg with 3rd baby and have just started with piles (external)...aghhhh, never had them before and wouldn't wish them on worst enemy. Am in sooo much pain, tried germaloid cream and now another one from gp but still in agony sitting, walking, standing, feel like I'm about 80! Please tell me that it will get better and that i don't have to wait another 6 weeks plus until baby is born???

try taking senokot orange drink - tastes horrible but is safe for pregnancy and is meant to help ease constipation, one of the main causes of piles. They are blooming horrible aren't they. Sheesh, as if we didn\t have enough to contend with!

mine didn't go until one week after birth. Used Anasol from gp and also after using the toilet, pushing them back in again and clenching until I was stood up. Not nice, but they will eventually go. I had them from week 30.

Sprinkle bran over your cereal in the morning - it really does help.

Am suppose to be going out tonight for dinner with girls and leaving party tomorrow night with hubby but feel like I can't face it (was so looking forward to it) struggling to sit down and then taking 10 mins to get up is soo embarrasing...

don't recommend the rubber ring - it pushes them further out! I tried one and it was a very bad mistake, even though the pharmacist warned me (I was desperate and it was post birth).

Bathing in salty water, eating lots and lots of green veg and fruit with every meal, not having stodge or refined / fatty foods like chocolate or icecream, all helps generally.

I found anusol pre-birth did help a bit but had to get perscribed some super dupa pessaries for after the birth (sorry cannot remember name). anusol cream also.

and, if you can bear it, try pushing them back inside. sorry that is gross but it does help if you can do it while in the bath or shower.

good luck.
