I'm 15 weeks and have suffered with nausea from about 6 or 7 weeks. I thought it was easing but the last week it's got worse. I can't even think about food. Not eating properly just snacks bits. Even drinking I'm forcing myself . Feel run down and exhausted. Not easy looking after my 22 month old too. What can I do? Sad

What a pain it's still going on. Are you vomiting or just feeling like you will? Have you been to the drs?
I've had 24hr nausea from 6 weeks. I'm only 8 weeks but have been prescribed Phenergan which is similar to cyclizine because my nausea and retching were so severe I could barely get anything down. I'm now eating and drinking ok and can sleep at night without waking up retching. I'm still nauseas for a few hours at a time when I can do nothing but lie down and it makes you very drowsy so I'm signed off work.
I really sympathise as it's so depressing xxx

@janey15 I'm sorry your feeling it too. I'm not being sick just feel like I will. Been close a few times so have a bucket in case. I think I will go to my gp Tuesday. It really wipes you out doesn't it!

It's awful. The first half of last week I was literally carrying a bucket with me as moving from one room to another set off the retching. My dr was reluctant to prescribe it because I wasn't vomiting but when my husband told her how little i had eaten she seemed shocked and gave me the tablets x

Look up the hypermesis thread on here.

Nausea is as much of an issue as vomiting. Especially when you have another child to care for.

Get yourself to your GP & get some medication!

The website pregnancy sickness support is really helpful too. Especially if your anxious about taking medications.

@Lcw29 I am exactly the same as you and I have also been prescribed phenergan. I had this medication with my dc3 too. It makes me very sleepy but has eased the symptoms. I'm only 5+6 so know this will get worse for me before getting better. Just hoping the phenergan can keep it under control so I can still look after my 3 kids.

Definitely go to the gp or midwife. And as someone else said the hyperemisis thread on here is fantastic xx

keep fluid intake up. Get as much rest as U can.

Lcw29 · 08/09/2019 19:59

@TapDanceJazzHands thanks for that I will look it up. I always thought hyperemesis was vommitting. My hubby has thankfully let me just rest in bed today, looking after DS1 . Dreading the week though.

I’m so sorry you’re feeling so poorly. I’m only 12 weeks with my first but had horrendous nausea from about 7 weeks. If I stayed perfectly still I wouldn’t vomit but even gentle movements and I would vomit. Initially my GPs fobbed me off saying if I could stay still and not vomit then I should just stay still. This vaguely worked except I was eating and drinking less and less until I had a horrendous 24 hours where suddenly I couldn’t keep anything down regardless of how still I stayed and had to be admitted to hospital. They then gave me cyclizine and ondansatron and gradually they have really helped and I’m nearly 13 weeks and finally functioning. So don’t let the GPs fob you off just because you’re not vomiting that much; the right medication can really make the world of difference. I was extremely anti-medication initially and still am a little gutted I have to have them but honestly when you have HG and that non stop nausea, there’s really nothing else for it. I’m very lucky the medication works so well for me but even if it just makes you feel a bit more human its worth a try.
Really hope you feel better soon.

How are you getting on @Lcw29 ?

Lcw29 · 23/09/2019 18:40

@TapDanceJazzHands I'm still suffering. I'm on tablets but had an awful weekend where I had to stay in bed with a bucket. Better today though, thank you Smile the tablets do take the edge of most of the time

Oh I feel for you. It's hideous!
Give the tablets a go but if they're not working for you go back to the GP- there's loads you can try!

Are you taking any Vitamin B6 Lcw29? I'm just over 8 weeks, had about 5 episodes of nausea since 6.5 weeks - always in the morning when I first sit up/get up from being asleep/woken by alarm. However it does ease and then disappear completely after about 2 hours. I've been taking Vitamin B6 (10mg a night) since mid-August (got BFP on 23 Aug), last night I took 2 tablets (20mg) as yesterday morning it felt awful while I was on tube to work, but then as usual had gone by 10am; and had no nausea at all this morning. Could you try some high strength B6 and see if after a week or so of it building up in your system you feel an improvement? Good luck x

Ask for your ketone to be checked. Even if you are managing some fluids if they are high then u may need to go on a drip to replace fluids. I had HG in both my pregnancies and ended up on the ward many times. Best be checked
