Bitter/metallic taste in mouth??

Hi I’m 13 weeks + 2 days. Had this very horrible, bitter, metallic taste in my mouth for a few weeks now but it’s getting to the point where I feel constantly sick because of it. I always have mints and chewing gum, and brush my teeth and have mouthwash when I can but nothing shifts it. It is there when I go to bed and it makes me so nauseous I can’t sleep! Feels right on the back of my tongue and throat it’s horrid!

Any suggestions???

I have similar.. mine is bitter but also I find the taste of what I’ve eaten just stays in my mouth for hours. It’s horrible! I’m 12+3!

I remember it from last time & it didn’t last all pregnancy, fingers crossed it’s tied into the 14-20 week mark of most people’s extreme symptoms calming right down! 🙏🏼

Ooo yes I have had this in both pregnancies. It's vile. I did the same as you and lived off chewing gum. Every time I ate the first thing after was gum. I also had a lot of lollies (and I don't usually eat sweets). Mine went around 16/17 weeks. I hope it goes sooner for you

It’s your hormones changing unfortunately, it will go

I had this with all three of my pregnancies - the only thing that used to work for me was sucking fizzy cherry cola bottle sweets. Thankfully it passed by about 18 weeks!

It’s definitely my least favourite part of pregnancy Sad

Yes. Awful. Dark chocolate hard candies and super strong mints.

It's normal (and horrible) in pregnancy. I've never forgotten that taste. Eurghh. If it helps, I only had it with DC1 & not at all in my subsequent pregnancies. I've no miracle solutions, unfortunately, just sympathy.
