Hi, first time mum starting to look at prams, I have a Kia picanto but think me and my husband are going to have to swap cars as there’s not a lot that will fit in my boot!!
What prams/travel systems would you recommenced especially interested in recommendations of travel systems that don’t cost the earth! Thanks! X

Hi there I have just bought a travel system fe ikkle bubba, it's called the v4 stomp and they are on offer at the minute you get they lay down pram the fitting for a older seat (upto age 3) isofix car seat bag and window covers (for sunshine) and all footmuff covers for pram. There usually £649 for the set but are on offer at £499 and I think they look lovely I have gone for the black and rose gold xx

Hi! We got the Mothercare Journey, it's really light/easy to push and fits OK in our car, we have a Kia Rio. They usually have offers on and we got the pram/pushchair, car seat and accessories (liner, rain cover, muffler thing, change bag) for £200.

aliensprig · 07/09/2019 09:49

@dollytutu we are also considering the Stomp, is it easy to push and fold? I was worried that the price was just too good and maybe it rattles like hell over gravel!!

dollytutu · 07/09/2019 09:53

@aliensprig I only managed to see it yesterday in person as not many shops stock it! And was pleasantly surprised! Was lovely a real bargain, delivery is November as they have really sold loads with the current discount x

I’ve got this on order. I’m praying its good. Was a bargain with all that comes with it. Just hope the frame feels sturdy.

I love my Oyster 2. It was really reasonably priced. You can choose the colour of the fabric and the frame. Just finished using it with my two year old and next Feb will be using it again with new baby

I have an aygo so super small boot. We've managed really well with a mamas and papas sola2 travel system. It's an infant carrier, pram, and carry cot set. The carry cot did not fit in the boot so I seatbelt strapped it behind me in the car. The main buggy and the pram frame all fit in the back. It comes with adaptors to attach the car seat to the frame as well. I would definitely recommend for a small boot space - I looked everywhere and struggled to find anything reasonably priced to suit us.

I second the oyster 2. Just using it with a buggy board for 2 year old now but am planning to just change the colour pack ready for DC2 arrival in January. Light and very practical. Mines taken a hammering in the last 2 years and still in good condition.

Think about buying second hand. You can get some serious bargains. I’ve seen a Uppababy vista for £50.

Which one to get depends on your life style.

Parker231 · 08/09/2019 11:37

Would recommend second hand and a solid dark colour as they get so dirty in the park, beach and moving it from car to house to car.

Shelby30 · 08/09/2019 13:45

I've got this one. It's been a brilliant pram, I love it. Sturdy, hard wearing, nice little touches like the hood has flaps that you can move to let air in during the summer and handle is adjustable to about 4 places.

You should be able to pick one of these up second hand fairly cheaply too I know they are rather popular.

My little girl is 2 now and I've another on the way which will be using the pram so I'll more than get my money worth. Something to consider if you think you'll have another.

This is it.

Another thing to consider is the isofix base. They are really expensive though, £120 I think I paid. I wasn't going to get it as was just a ridiculous price but when I tried the car seat in the car I wasn't happy about how much it cld move with the belt around it.

Gettingonabitnow · 08/09/2019 14:25

Bugaboo is brilliant

aliensprig · 08/09/2019 18:17

@dollytutu Okay I tested the Stomp in store again today and apparently the carrycot function can't be used overnight, which sucks as we were hoping it could be used for sleepovers at the grandparents :/ it's put me off a bit but it's such good value I'm not sure whether to overlook it or not!

dollytutu · 08/09/2019 19:04

@aliensprig ah ok yes I could imagine not ideal for that I'm lucky mum always buys a stock of her own stuff for kids lol ye well you can get some real good price Moses baskets etc might be worth it x

mamabear2409 · 09/09/2019 23:06

Look at Doonas! Absolute godsend! Transforms from a buggy to car seat in seconds, no fiddly bits. The wheels just tuck in when the button is pressed and goes automatically in to a car seat. Can be slightly heavy but is decently priced for the fact that it works as a big pram and car seat.
