Hi there moms netters
Im just looking for some advice im six and a half months pregnant and its our first baby we are having a little girl whilst we are super excited about being parents we are both quiet anxious about the labour, is this normal or just stupid???
How do you decide where you have your baby??
When do you know its a contraction or just a heavy kick??
Do braxton hicks mean labour??
When your waters burst will you definately know

Im sorry if these seem like daft questions but after watching one born every minute im increasingly more nervous, i would like to have my baby in hospital but what if she comes early should i prepare for a what if at home need advice thankyou mums netters xx

You will definitely be able to tell the difference between a contraction and a kick!

I'd avoid any more one born if I were you. It's edited to seem very dramatic and will only make your nerves worse!

They’re not daft questions, but they’re hard to answer because really everyone’s labour is so different! The majority of women will definitely know the difference between a contraction and a heavy kick, but sometimes the early contractions just aren’t that strong. Same with water breaking - for me it was pretty obvious but if someone’s already got pre-existing bladder problems and it just comes out as a little ongoing trickle it might not be so obvious. If you’re unsure, just phone the midwife.
Where to give birth? Depends on what you want - I went for the birthing centre because it was closer to home, although epidural wouldn’t be an option there, but then I had some bleeding and got sent to the hospital in an ambulance anyway (everything turned out to be fine, they’re just very cautious!) so even that choice didn’t matter so much. I would just say for your first birth, be prepared to go with the flow and have an open mind.

Honestly, when I feel gassy now it feels the same as when I was pregnant and thought DS was moving, so it may well have just been that Grin

Definitely steer clear of one born. They choose the most dramatic things to show, and it's usually when women are in the transition phase.
If they showed most average births it would be a pretty dull show to watch after a while!

Have you thought about trying some hypnobirthing classes to help you feel more relaxed as you approach during date?

Wallacemom · 06/09/2019 19:53

Hypno birthing that sounds interesting i might look into that thanks ever so much xxx
