Hi all, I'm 10 weeks pregnant (first pregnancy), I have a tendency to be anxious, and a week ago I had sudden very heavy bleeding in the middle of the night and had to go to hospital (had a scan the following morning and the baby was fine thankfully!)

The last few days I've had an almost constant mild ache in my lower belly - feels like period cramps but not really painful. Every now and then I'll get a twinge of slightly more intense discomfort.

I've read that this is normal at this stage and can even be seen as a good sign - it means the baby is growing! But I still feel so stressed and worried :( the last 2 nights I've woken up from intense nightmares about losing the baby and then not been able to get back to sleep.

Any tips or advice for relaxing and worrying less???

Does it help to know that I had period-like cramps on and off the whole way through my first (healthy and successful) pregnancy? I assume it's to do with your uterus stretching in ways it hasn't had to before, because I've had very little second time around.

I’m 7w tomorrow and like you I freak out at every single twinge or ache.
My dr said that any cramping is normal and not to worry unless it’s more painful that your regular period cramp pain. It’s just tour body stretching and getting ready to grow and make a home for bubba.

@PowerslidePanda that is reassuring to hear, thank you! And @579kirsty I'm glad I'm not the only one. I mentioned it to a close colleague who's had two kids today and she also said straight away that its totally normal and I shouldn't worry.
