Small age gap

Am expecting baby number 2 in March and my LO has just turned 10 months. I'm really pleased after a long struggle and IVF for the first baby but I'm scared about the small age gap. Anyone else with similar gap?!

I'm due my second baby tomorrow by c section and there will be 14 months between my two. My friend is also pregnant with a very similar gap. It wasn't planned and even though we'll be knackered, it will be worth it and to have an age gap that close with be so lovely for them.

Congratulations!

Good luck for tomorrow!

Very similar, my second DS has just turned 10 months and I'm pregnant due 20th March. It took 18 months to conceive him. I am also very worried but everybody I have spoken to have been very positive about it. I do also have a nearly 10 year old so have the other side and a big age which has been great.

I have a 1 year old and I'm currently 24 weeks pregnant when I have baby there will be 16 months between them I was very worried about the age gap and the stories of oh its going to he hard ect but I just think how lovely it will be that they will grow up together and have a close bond good luck to you I'm sure everything will be fine

Congratulations, how are you feeling? I'll have exactly the same gap. Everyone says it's amazing when they start playing together etc and I can't wait to be a family of four, I'm just worried about the practical stuff because of the age gap. My mum had a smaller gap with my siblings and said it was fine but said it was easy because when the newborn came along the baby wasn't moving yet whereas ours will be tottering about everywhere! How did you find it as you've got bigger? Also bit worried about picking her up as bump grows because she's getting heavy!

There will be a 20month gap between my two youngest and I think it's great. I don't drive so going out will be interesting. It will be lovely seeing them grow up together.

I'm also a bit worried about carrying my dd when I'm further on as she is a big girl.

I'm not feeling great to be honest I am suffering with pgp never had it before so painful never felt anything like it and my little boy is walking well running around everywhere now he walked from 11 months his nearly 13 months now so his very active but I manage I think us moms just do I also have 2 older children age 10 and 7 I wouldnt worry about being able to pick up your little one my son is also a big boy his very tall for his age and I think you just do it as it feels the normal to you i do think as I'm so active running around after him tho i do feel my bump is alot smaller this time i still haven't put any weight on yet infact since being pregnant I've lost over half a stone the main thing i worried about was the double pushchair haha ! I didnt like any of them but I've settled for one now purchased it the other week I've had the icandy peach and i now love it

frillseeking · 06/09/2019 08:35

Oh no that must be hard work as not like you can put your feet up and rest to help with the PGP is it! Was it the icandy double peach that you went for? I've got the bugaboo fox but that doesn't convert so will have to think about this too at some point! I was quite pleased to find out there are quite a few classes where you can take elder children and babies to as I've only done age appropriate classes for my daughter but it will be nice to go to a class with both of them, although leaving the house with two is a whole other thing that scares me!

16 months between our DC. What I would say is that it is difficult for the first 3 months or so and then you find your feet and get into a routine. What I found difficult was taking them both places on my own such as soft play etc as the eldest was too little to go round on her own. Now it's fine and they play with each other etc.

If you have your oldest in nursery or child care at the moment try and keep them there for at least some of the time per week until you get yourself into a routine etc

Yes the icandy peach double its lovely to push I'm only 5ft 1 so most of the double was way too big for me
