35+5 - Baby's Movements

Up until yesterday, baby was moving A LOT. kicking me in the ribs and under my chest constantly, to the point that I could not sit forward.

Since yesterday morning, I have felt much less movement and it has been lower down and a lot gentler. I don't feel like I can't sit forward any more and so, I'm wondering if baby has just moved down a little bit or changed position. I do have an anterior placenta and so, I wonder if this has anything to do with it?

I work for my Mum and I asked her about it. She just said she thinks all is well if baby is moving and kept brushing it off so, I don't want to be overdramatic and insist that I need to ring my midwife and leave work to be checked over but, equally, I don't want to be complacent.

I have several 'mum friends' who have all said I should ring because, they had the same thing with their baby(ies). Which makes me think I should but then, since mentioning it to everyone, I have felt more movement.

The other reason I feel put off calling is that because, so many of my friends have advised that they have been in this position before, it also confirms that their babies were all fine.

Ah I don't know, as I am writing this, I am thinking that I would be replying saying 'Better safe than sorry' etc.

I just emailed my Mum to say I think I will wait an hour and if I'm not happy with baby's movements, I will ring. She replied saying "I’m sure he’s fine just not much room left :)"

Argh, I don't know.

No they still move no matter what space left just ring what's it gonna hurt

You still need to ring. It is absolutely possible that baby has just shifted position and so the movements feel different, but you still need to get checked out to be on the safe side. Thankfully for most women everything is absolutely fine, but there are also women that go and things aren't fine, that's why there is so much focus on movements.

I called up on Sunday because I had reduced movements, I explained I was still feeling flutters but not the kind of movement I usually felt. They still wanted to me to go in for monitoring just to be on the safe side

Thanks for the replies, I really appreciate it!

I think I knew I need to call but, I didn't want work/my Mum to think I am being dramatic.

It's always hard being the pregnant one. I try not to go on about it at work because, I don't want everyone to think 'You're pregnant... we get it!'

Three weeks left!

Yeah i would phone, they are so nice when u do call.best to be safe,im sure he is fine but its best to just get checked over even if its just to stop u worrying x

Always phone, you don’t have to tell everyone your phoning if your worried about their response, but you do need to phone. A change is still a change and needs checking out, if your baby was here already born and acting more quietly/different and you were worried you would call a doctor, so it’s no different. Can’t hurt to get checked Smile

Never doubt yourself and just phone. They are always lovely and will check on baby. I went in 4 to 5 times during the last 5 weeks as the movements were less abd less which resulted in a section my LG us now 4 years old and I'm glad I didn't listen to my mum telling me everything is fine and my dad said I was being dramatic 😂 xxx

Definitely get it checked out

Thank you for your responses!

Baby is bopping around all over the place again today. Must have just had a lazy couple of days!
