I simply cannot sleep on stomach, in fact I need a pregnancy pillow between legs when on my side...does this seem rather early on?

Yes at 4 weeks pregnant you are actually only 2 weeks however how they count it from last period makes you 4 nothing in your body will have changed hun x

It really can't be making any difference yet. You have surely only just found out you're pregnant. No harm in the pregnancy pillow but you don't actually 'need' it.

Have you seen a doctor or a midwife yet? You might want to get checked out as this isn't normal. The baby is currently the size of a poppy seed.

Bloating? Maybe further on than expected, plus twins?

Hmmmbop · 31/08/2019 10:49

What do you mean "can't" there should be no physical reason not to other than possibly nausea.

For reference, I was going to sleep on my stomach until 16 weeks, and waking on my stomach until 26weeks.

TrashKitten10 · 31/08/2019 10:49

What's the reason you can't sleep on your stomach? Is this your first pregnancy? Sleeping troubles and aches and pains I think typically cause problems in the second and third trimesters when baby is much larger and women are getting physically unable to sleep in certain positions. At four weeks you won't be experiencing that but maybe if you're bloated and uncomfortable it could be making it harder to sleep soundly in certain positions.

Bloated?

complexsimplicity · 31/08/2019 11:10

Felix, yes - feels like extreme bloating....

Also to add, I had a miscarriage last month; although, this shouldn't really impact the current pregnancy...

No it won't impact him at all maybe it's all your worries etc I am currently 24 weeks pregnant and my tummy isn't by any means small and I can still lay comfortably on my tummy for half hour or so

fonxey · 31/08/2019 17:08

I felt uncomfortable very early on. Probably by about 8 weeks i stopped being on my stomach. It was all bloat.

But then I'd get really uncomfy on my belly if i bloated a lot over period too. The only difference was my bloat just carried on for ages.

Hmmmbop · 31/08/2019 17:51

Bloating in early pregnancy is really normal and can be uncomfortable. It should ease in a few weeks.

I got pregnant immediately following a miscarriage, DD is now 7 months old, it really shouldn't effect things.

Shelby30 · 31/08/2019 18:39

I don't understand how it can be making a difference to you at that stage of pregnancy.
Even with bloating etc it should still be comfortable to sleep on your stomach.

I'm 25 wks with a bump and I often wake up on my tummy. I'm trying not to but it's how I usually sleep so often end up like that without knowing.

Is it possibly on ur mind as u had a previous miscarriage and your worried it cld effect the baby.

With my first pregnancy the first sign I got was when I was reading in the park I turned to read on my stomach it was too uncomfortable! I then went home to do a workout video and only managed 2 minutes of it... that's when I took the test! I don't usually sleep on my stomach so can't remember if that was uncomfortable too, but it sure was that day in the park
