Hi, was hoping someone might be able to offer some advice. I'm 14 weeks pregnant and work part time in a local corner shop, I do two x 3 hour shifts and two x 5 hour shifts, usually standing at the till, or sweeping/mopping floors, stocking shelves etc. But basically on my feet for the entirety of the shifts.
I just wondered at what stage of pregnancy it would be reasonable to ask for a chair (if I'm on the till). Is 14 weeks too soon? And is three / five hours on my feet enough to warrant this? Not currently in any discomfort as such, just completely exhausted at the moment!!
Have told my boss about pregnancy, but to be honest he wouldn't know what a pregnancy risk assessment was if it bit him on the bum!
Thanks in advance!

It is a little early since you aren’t heavily pregnant but if you feel you need one, ask for one!

A pregnancy risk assessment should be done for sure - it’s to protect you and ur baby.

If you want a chair because you feel like you need it, ask for one. You don't have to wait for some cut off point or til you're visibly pregnant. I have a mild joint condition and when I used to work in a shop I always insisted on having a chair at the till.
