Movements - what to check for?

I know midwifes hammer home about any changes, but what exactly do they mean? Mine are never exactly the same, just roughly similar times of day and can be quite strong or quite weak. Felt a bit weaker and didnt feel much at all last night so was worrying but let myself go to sleep and then this morning strong kicks on cue.

How do you know when to worry also how do you track it? When I'm busy during the day I barely notice them. 30 weeks btw and anterior placenta.

When I had my children, she said any reduced movements I should ring the antenatal unit. But they advised me to drink a cold glass of water and do some star jumps and then sit down. If I got no movements after that I had to go to the unit and get checked. Hope this helps OP

When I rung up last week because I'd felt some movement but not as much or as strong as usual the midwife told me it was probably nothing to worry about as I'd felt something.

Her advice was to slowly drink a pint of ice cold water over 30minutes then lie down for 2 hours, if I didn't feel 10 movements in those 2 hours to come in.

However friends in other trust areas have been told any doubt or any change come in to be checked.

I'd give them a call today and ask what their policy is.

I gave them a call and they said to have some breakfast and then see. I don't think I know my baby's pattern perfectly though so really hard to know what to look out for!

Is there a really good app to use to track or do you just write them down?

I’ve got a kicks count wristband (32 weeks with twins, one of whom has an anterior placenta) - I’ve found it really reassuring. It’s got a little slider thing that you move along every time you feel them move. www.kickscount.org.uk/kicks-count-wristbands

So is it more how often they kick, even if sometimes they're doing it loads and sometimes quite gently?
