Health visitor home visit at 36 weeks

Hiya
I've got the health visitor coming tomorrow and I'll be 36+1 with our first.

Just wondering if anyone can tell me what to expect from this meeting and what they'll want to know/see so I can be prepared? To be honest (completely clueless first time mum obviously!) I thought they only came after you'd had your baby 🙈

We have them between 20 and 24 weeks then again between 32 and 36 weeks in my area. It seemed to be the same as everyone else's at my first visit an introduction and lots of questions based around worries and support.

I think they like to have early intervention for support here as I live in a fairly deprived area. I work as a teacher in the same area and see/hear horror stories about the living conditions of some of our kids.

I was also asked about my upbringing but that was by the midwife rather than the HV.

This is my second baby and I opted out if the HV service as they were absolutely appalling last time.

@ParadiseLaundry I would be tempted to opt out if I have another. She was pretty useless. I'm hoping I can stay under the midwife for longer than 5 days next time

She left around an hour ago and it was a waste of time imo 😂 she gave me some leaflets and spoke to me about safe sleeping etc and asked about my marriage (that I was happy and my husband isn't a threat etc) and that was about it! I guess it's more of just an introduction xxx
