I am first time Mum, just over 24 weeks.
Early stages it was worry about MC, I’m currently getting a lot of discharge so feel wet down below and worrying about waters, mucus plugs blah blah blah!!!!!!!!! I just want to enjoy pregnancy and I know I’m the only one stopping the enjoyment, it’s just hard entering all these unknown stages- surely I’m not the only one?! X

I’ll be honest, nope. It never stops. My daughter is two & I continue you to have worries every day! BUT you need to learn to not let them control your life. To just be passing thoughts unless it’s a genuine concern of course.

Today I’ve worried that my daughter put a raisin up her nose & is one still up there, I worried when she fell off her slide & bashed her head, I’ve worried she seems to have stopped liking fruit (and don’t get me started on veg).. etc etc.. I’m nervous about my upcoming 12 week scan .. but I don’t let these thoughts ruin my day. I address them & move on.

Pregnancy is a really nerve wracking time. There’s very little monitoring & you feel this huge pressure as mum to keep this tiny thing safe inside you. Totally normal. Realistically, there’s only so much you can do. The rest is up to nature & your body. Eat the recommended foods, don’t ride a rollercoaster, try to keep as well as you can .. it’s totally OK to feel anxious but try to enjoy pregnancy too Smile (and that’s from a HG sufferer where all the joy is sucked out of pregnancy if I’m honest!)

Nope. Worry is life now. The worries just change.

Nope. Welcome to parenthood.

Mine are teenagers and even more worrying than when they were babies.

flower3305 · 26/08/2019 14:01

Sorry no! Mine are now 5 and 3 and totally different set of worries but still there- have resigned myself to a lot more grey hairs!

I found out I was pregnant with DS almost 4 years ago, I've been worried ever since, it gets worse in fact. Sorry OP.

You're not the only one hun Thanks
I worried the whole way through my first pregnancy, 2nd pregnancy only slightly less worried as I've been busy with DC1.
You're over the half way mark, it might get easier and hopefully you'll be getting lots of movement soon which is always reassuring

Thanks everyone for your honest replies 😌.
@Bol87- you’ve hit the nail on the head there... it feels an epic responsibility growing this little human. I know in my heart I’m doing my best for him and that’s all I can do. I wish that was enough and I could just relax and think the rest is out of my hands but unfortunately cannot do that very well. I’m normally quite a laid back person, what’s happened to me lol xx

Do you get lots of movement? I’m almost 26 weeks and used to worry SO much. First time mum too. But I feel him all the time now so don’t have any need to worry as I know he’s absolutely fine kicking away!

I second the discharge though 🤢 nobody told me about that!!
