Hi ladies,

I am currently 27 weeks pregnant and have a wedding in 4 weeks time (31 weeks) and haven't a clue what I am going to wear. Can anyone recommend anywhere that's good for occasion dresses? I have found a few that claim to fit from bump to baby but the same ones say the fabric doesn't stretch?! How is that even possible?

I have found if very difficult to find maternity wear that actually fits me this pregnancy to the point I'm questioning how the hell can that be maternity wear?! I am quite tall at 5'8 and feel that if I was 5'4 I would be absolutely fine as everything is really short.

Getting rather stressed now, please help! Xx

Tiffany Rose sell lovely dresses. I bought the short Eden dress in the Jan sale for a wedding in Feb (12 wks) and one in July (33 wks). It did genuinely fit both times! There are a lot on eBay as they seem to have good resale value.

Seraphine do lovely maternity clothes. they don't have many stores but I've ordered online and returns were simple so not a problem if it's wrong

ASOS had some ok stuff when I was looking and it's not silly money, plus you can try on at home and their returns are easy.

Another vote for Tiffany rose here. I wore one of their maxi dresses at 38 weeks, I’m also quite tall (5’7) and I would say the dress still could have done with taking up at the front - I wore a low wedge sandal instead. Pricey (£120ish) but so worth it. Considering either reselling or having altered as a non maternity dress.

Depending on your pre-pregnancy size Monsoon is great. I used to find a lot of their posh frocks in my size (12) very loose around the boobs and waist and now I am 25 weeks pregnant find the size 14 tends to fit really well and with room to grow. Suggest trying the dresses their first, upsizing if necessary,

Seraphine. Asos.

Thanks for the suggestions ladies, I'll have a look at these. My pre pregnancy size is a 12/14 and I'm finding the need to go to a 16/18 in most maternity clothing for it to fit despite the only visable weight I've put on is my bump. I thought the whole point of maternity clothing was that you can buy your pre pregnancy size and it will accomodate your bump... xx

You're the same size and height as me. I went to a Buckingham palace garden party at 35 weeks in a lovely blue and white polka dot drop waisted dress with matching hat. I hired it locally. Think it was something like £60 for 3 days.

I think it's how you carry OP - is your bump quite big? I had a mahoosive bump the first time and had to size up in maternity clothes but this time I'm much "neater" and have managed to stick to my normal size in maternity wear. Good luck with the dress hunt - I like ASOS for maternity wear.

Second ASOS. I'm currently searching for Bridesmaid dresses so spend a long time searching through the dresses section lol. They have some beautiful maternity clothes, not even pregnant but considered buying some like this

Well it's a strange one, I feel quite big this time round but everyone I bump into comments on how neat I am this time (last time I gained 4 stone). My first was a girl and this time it's a boy and there is such a difference in how I am carrying. I think my bump really sticks out and all out front, almost as if I have put a football underneath my t-shirt xx

Have ant of you ladies ever bought from Chi Chi London for either maternity or just normal dresses? Have seen a couple that aren't overly pricey but wonder if they are big/small made? xx

I bought a lovely midi maternity dress off Boohoo, and Asos have some fab occasion dresses as well!
