I usually a big fan of gin but obviously now I'm pregnant alcohol is off the agenda.

Can anybody think of nice drinks or mocktails to drink while pregnant? X

A couple of dashes of angostura bitters and a spoonful of cane sugar syrup with soda water is lovely.
Angostura bitters does, as a PP said, have alcohol in it, but a generous serving size is 2.5ml. This has already been said, but an amount that would make a drink alcoholic enough to worry about would be totally undrinkable.
I also like pineapple juice shaken with a generous amount of lime juice then topped up with cold soda water.

Perhaps not exactly what you are looking for, but I drink a lot of herbal teas iced. Not sweet, but refreshing and flavoursome. Key is to make the tea really strong and then pour over a large glass of ice when it's still hot.

Thanks ladies for all of these. I'm sure they will get me through the next 9 months 🤣🤣 x

If you like spicy, a Virgin Mary feels quite a lot like a proper drink.

Ceders is pretty good when mixed with a good quality tonic - ceders-alt-gin.com
You can buy it in supermarkets (I got it from Asda) and it's a lot cheaper, and nicer, than seedlip.

Rawsons retreat seems to be the best alcohol free red (technically 0.5%), and the bees knees is ok for fizz. Both are in most supermarkets. From a beer point of view I agree with @Potatopia - I also like the brew dog raspberry blitz though could be an acquired taste as it's very sour!

Thank you @ThanksItHasPockets just enjoying a delicious Aperol and soda right now! Didn’t realise how low in alcohol it was on its own Grin

I often drink elderflower tonic in a gin glass. I can half trick myself! Non alcoholic cider too is good. I always find Browns do lovely mocktails.

I loved Seedlip when I was pregnant too. Things like San Pelligrino are soo sugary they make my teeth ache! The price of Seedlip is daylight robbery though.

ThanksItHasPockets · 25/08/2019 09:18

@DorothyWasRightTho Very glad to be of service! I realise that my maths was off - a 25ml measure is actually only just over a quarter of a unit. Even better! Smile

alcohol free Kopparbergs are lovely....they do mixed fruits and strawberry & lime etc and taste exactly the same as the alcoholic ones x

My DH really likes the Brew Dog Nanny state non alcoholic beer. There is also one we got in Portugal called "Cheers" which is the best non alcoholic lager I have ever tasted. Not sure if it is sold here.

Ginmonkey84 · 25/08/2019 15:03

@ThanksItHasPockets I could actually kiss you right now 😂 Aperol tonic and lime is the best thing ever!

I found a delicious cordial from Robinson's which is lime and mint and if you add ice and soda water it tastes exactly like a mojito!! Really recommend

Sparkling water mixed with apple juice

CmdrCressidaDuck · 25/08/2019 20:33

I really like Seedlip and tonic, so clearly it's a Marmite thing. Stuff like Appletiser was waaaaaaay too sweet for me. I do tend to agree that Seedlip is very expensive for a non-alcoholic drink, but we bought a big bottle on sale and kept it in the fridge.

If nothing else, it's really a golden age for grown-up non-alcoholic drinks - even 5 years ago when I was first pregnant the options were so much fewer.

Valkarie · 25/08/2019 21:11

M&S do a nice non-alcoholic gin and tonic. Belvoir do a tonic with juniper. There is a company that sell gin ish, Holland and Barrett keep sending me emails about it. Not tried it, but it has good reviews.

For beers, I like Heineken 0 and free damn. Becks blue is horrible.

There is also a sudden explosion in the number of flavoured to tonics and soda water around.

Avocuddles · 25/08/2019 23:17

Had a drink in a pub today which consisted of tonic, rose bitters and fresh cucumber. It was pretty good - close your eyes and pretend it's a Hendricks.....

Jenu294 · 25/08/2019 23:18

I drank bottles of Schloer... lots of them 😁

marmiteloversunite · 25/08/2019 23:26

Natureo rose wine is really nice and the Eisberg sparkling white is pretty good too. Both good really chilled.
