Dog-Proof High Chair

Looking for recommendations for a really sturdy high chair. Current fav looks to be Cosatto 3sixti which weighs in approx 14kg. Have multiple dogs so don't want one they can knock over. Would like height adjustable but doesn't need to fold up. Also not worried about price?

We had the Oribel Cocoon. It was brilliant, so sturdy, height adjustable and it will recline if you need to keep your baby out of the way of the dogs while you cook and they nap or something.

Your biggest problem will probably the baby feeding the dogs snacks.

Dinosauraddict · 23/08/2019 08:38

@Disfordarkchocolate I feel like that is probably inevitable! The dogs have a good range of puppy eyes and con most of our friends and family out of treats, I can't imagine the DC will be any different. Just need to make sure food is dog-safe...

The stokke trip trapp is absolutely brilliant quality and would definitely not tip over. My 3yo still loves hers and i can see us using it for years more to come. Because they sit at the table properly at the same height as everyone else (rather than with a separate tray) it really helps them learn about eating and meal times from the rest of the family. She also uses it to do crafts etc at the table as it is so comfortable for her. They are expensive up front but honestly worth every penny. We will be buying a second for baby no 2.

Be careful @Dinosauraddict, someone will accuse you of 'puppy led weaning' and you'll be all over the tabloids!

IKEA high chair, i wouldn’t think there is anyway a dog could knock it over. The legs stick out so it has a large base. Very cheap, basic but does the job perfectly with baby in an upright position for eating.

stucknoue · 23/08/2019 09:52

I would start working on dog training too. Dogs can be taught not to touch food on tables etc.

Dinosauraddict · 23/08/2019 09:59

Thanks everyone, really helpful! And @stucknoue our dogs won't take food off a table, but will mop up crumbs off the floor,
or take food if offered it from a human (carrot and lettuce being some of their favs)!

We have a Mamas and Papas green one with a really stable wide base. It’s seen us through 3 babies with two lively and badly trained labradors and never a budge! Now expecting 4th baby and due to too many chairs around the table and general carnage, thinking of getting a Phil and teds lobster which is attached to kitchen table and ‘floats’ (is sturdy but has no annoying legs ! ) Won’tstop the dogs begging though!

Dinosauraddict · 23/08/2019 20:46

Thanks @shouldntbeonhereagain that is really useful. None of my 3 are as big/strong as a Labrador so that fills me with hope!

Ikea is really stable despite being lightweight. We have all tripped over it and DS2 keeps trying to use it as a baby walker, and it's never fallen over.
