Smell of house making me heave

I don’t know if this is going to sound crazy. The smell of my house makes me want to throw up. The bedroom is fine. But downstairs, particularly the kitchen... Confused We recently got our kitchen done so it’s all brand new. My husband can’t smell anything. I’m 8 weeks pregnant.

We moved into our house when I was 6 weeks pregnant. The previous owners were indoor smokers and I hadn't noticed it when looking at the house, presumably because I smoked at the time (took ages for the contracts to exchange, got PG in the meantime, stopped smoking). Oh and they had 2 big dogs and 5 cats to boot. Between the cigarette smell, dog hairs, cat hairs..... You can imagine.

The smell of our house would make me gag, heave, vomit, the whole nine yards. I spent weeks crying at my poor DH and felt like we'd made the biggest mistake ever.

Open as many windows as you can, try to find a smell you can bear, like Febreeze etc and use that on your soft furnishings etc

The lulling of morning sickness - it's usually a hormonal change brought about by a placenta growing..... your hormones change as the placenta doesn't grow initially, the embryo takes what it needs from the egg sac. Once the placenta grows, the egg sac shrinks down. My MS disappeared overnight (twice) and I panicked, did far too much googling but everything was fine 💖

Did you paint the new kitchen with kitchen/bathroom paint? We did when I was pregnant and the smell drove me mad for months, no one else could smell it. I looked all over for the source of the smell! I only realised what it was a couple of months ago when we used the same type of paint in another room (only noticed it for 2 days when not pregnant).

Other thing that made me sick when I had HG were the smell of my own sweat, the taste of my own mouth, and brushing my teeth.

The sight of the toilet made me almost heave for almost a year afterward like some sort of Pavlovian conditioning.

I hope you feel better soon Thanks

I can't step foot in my bedroom at the moment - we had a new carpet put in a few months ago, and I can't stand it. It's triggered vomiting a few times now too...
Also ironing water, and my husbands deodorant.

Completely normal. I was absolutely convinced we had mould spores and wet damp in my house (we didn't) because that's all I could smell when I was pregnant! It was dreadful and made me constantly nauseous.

Completely normal. I had HG (now 21 weeks and thankfully passed) but couldn't bear the smell of any of the rooms... the lounge and kitchen was the worst. The smell of the fridge and washing up liquid made me heave 🤮 I found lighting strong citronella candles, the ones designed to keep mozzies away, did help to a certain degree. Hope it passes soon for you Thanks

My house, my husband, my toddler - everything smelt appalling and made me feel sick!
Chewing gum, sucking citrus sweets and wearing a freshly washed scarf (cotton/silk in this weather!) very close to my face helped a tiny bit.

My own sweat at the moment is making me wanna vom. Never been like it before but every time I roll over, I catch the smell and I feel like I am going to vom every time
