Hello,

I’m 10+4 weeks and suffering with HG. I’m signed off work and I’m really struggling with how slowly the days pass & thus the weeks! Normally, when busy at work, weeks fly by these days. This year has gone in flash til late July/August which feels like it’s been a whole year in one month. Confused

How can I keep myself entertained?! TV wise, I need to watch quite gentle, slow moving things as anything more makes me sick. Reading is no good either Sad

Anyone got any ideas of things I could potter with? I’m so unbelievably fed up of life and I know I’ve got a least another 4 weeks before this will show any signs of improving!

If you're feeling horrifically nauseated, I think doing things that don't involve looking at something (TV, reading etc) is best -- I'd suggest audiobooks, personally. Hope you feel better. It's not fun.

When I was feeling really rough I watched the Miss Fisher's Murder Mystery series on Netflix There were enough episodes to keep me going for weeks on end. It might not be your thing but it was really easy, simple watching.

Good luck and I hope you start feeling better soon. X

I'm sorry you're feeling so poorly, I can imagine it's a really tough symptom to bear.

Rather than TV, I would suggest listening to podcasts on topics you find interesting. That way you can sit back / lie down and not have to focus your eyes on anything. I'm not sure what issues you find compelling, but Desert Island Discs has an incredibly varied archive of interviews with all sounds of weird and wonderful people. You might also consider listening to the radio to feel like you're being kept in the loop?

All the best, be compassionate with yourself and I hope you start to feel better as you leave the first trimester behind.

Do you feel up to any very simple crafts? Can you knit or crochet? They can be quite soothing and rewarding as they're repetitive, but you can see them grow.

Or adult colouring books - there are some lovely ones with beautiful complex patterns you can colour in.
