Had a letter today saying I’m now under a consultant rather than midwife due to my first baby (5years ago) measured under the line in the growth chart when measuring tummy after 20 weeks, i know I shouldn’t worry too much but I think I am!!
Anyone else been in the same position !? Surely every pregnancy is different ...

That chart is just the standard growth chart isn't it, nothing has been plotted on it? It's just a blank chart ready to be used when you get to 28 weeks?

Ime it doesn't necessarily mean that much. Consultant-led care often doesn't involve meeting an actual consultant (I got a registrar - not complaining, just saying). I was referred due to history of anxiety and depression, rather than anything wrong with actual baby. And you still see the midwife.

Midwife here - in our trust, once we've generated the GROW chart it tells us what centile previous babies came out on once born. If they measured under the 10th centile they are classed as being "small for gestational age (SGA)" based on national average, doesn't necessarily mean they were unhealthy but if you already have a baby that is SGA you are slightly more likely to have another. In our trust this means having extra growth scans to monitor how baby is growing throughout the pregnancy and if all remains well it won't change anything (obv every trust has it's own policies). If it picks up that baby is measuring smaller you may have closer monitoring of baby's heart trace, and may end up being offered induction before your due date.

Hope that helps and doesn't worry you too much - just trying to explain the whole picture! Chances are your baby will measure within range and it will make no difference to your pregnancy or birth, it's all just to err on the side of caution - better to monitor and pick up nothing untoward than for them to ignore it and miss anything.

I'm in exactly the same position, having growth scans and 4 weekly meetings with the Registrar. There is no different plan in place other than waiting for a spontaneous delivery. Try not to worry OP, it really doesn't mean too much.

No, don't worry! I'm having growth scans
too, It's good and they also look at blood flow between placenta and the baby which some argue should be done as standard.

Try not to worry every pregnancy is different and if you're measuring ok they will put you back with the midwife ☺️

I have had a consultant app through and no idea why, assuming it's because of a condition I have but the midwife said nothing about consultant app 🤷🏻‍♀️
