Hello! First pregnancy super excited but feeling rather crap. Due April 2020. I have been constantly feeling sick since 3 weeks. Seeing midwife (2nd appt) 27th August but any suggestions on dealing with feeling in the meantime?

Hi

I'm the same! Due in April and feeling like crap for the last couple of weeks but it's only been about 4 days I've felt really bad. Yesterday, I could barely bring myself to get out of bed. This morning, I woke up feeling the same but I had things to do and you know what, I felt great! So I really think keeping yourself busy and not thinking about the sickness is a great remedy!

Regular carbs were the only thing I found helped for a while when I was pregnant. Toast, crackers, pasta and I used to carry granola bars in my pocket in work just in case! Lemon water was helpful too but only really cold. Don't let yourself get hungry, eat small amounts often.

Eased for me around 14 weeks so hopefully you don't have long to go.

Congratulations! I was like that first couple of weeks, I'm finding the only thing that helps is a oack of biscuits and nibbling one often worried about the weight gain though! I have an early pregnancy scan tomorrow so fingers crossed!!!

@J100420 don't worry about the weight gain. In the first trimester you just have to do what you can to get by.

I ate plenty at the start of my pregnancy and then healthier in the second and third trimesters and I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight by 3 months postpartum.

Best of luck with the scan. My little boy is 19 weeks now and he's even more amazing than I could have imagined when I was pregnant x

For ds1 I had nausea from 4 till 20 weeks. Eating little snacks as often as you feel weird helped so much. Must've seemed like a weird rabbit at work chomping though carrots but it worked for me! Gingernuts, breadsticks, celery, red pepper, nectarines, oranges- just eat whatever you can anytime you feel the nausea brewing! Couldn't stomach ginger and lemon tea, but lots of people like it!
Good luck! Hope it eases soon Flowers
