Anyone had issues flying in late pregnancy?

I'm due to go on holiday when 32/33 weeks pregnant. Flying with Ryanair who state they require a Dr/Midwife note at this time.

Just wondered if anyone had encountered any problems? Either Dr/Midwife refusing to sign or the airline causing a problem?

I flew at just turned 28 weeks and needed a letter after 28 weeks.

The doctor signed the letter no problem, but it was a two week turnaround for it. I'm glad I took it because I was asked for it both there and back.

Check what your airline says about the letters, mine had to be dated within 6 days of flying.

The biggest problem for me was striking the balance between staying hydrated and being in a queue for toilets.

And always flight socks!

We are on holiday now (I am 31wks pregnant) and while I got the letter from the GP (no problems getting it as I’ve been low risk in both pregnancies, but they charged for it as a private service) I’ve not been asked to show it. You need the letter but you also must get appropriate insurance that covers you and the baby should you go into labour. When you find the right provider, it’s worth looking at whether getting say multi trip or annual policy is cheaper than single trip. I got full family annual policy for nearly the same price as just me taking out single trip cover..
