Transverse lie position

I had a private scan at 16 weeks and that’s what she ticked for babies position. I have just googled about it as to why this is why I may not be showing yet. I’m having a section anyway but seems if babies stay like that and don’t or can’t be turned they will more likely be section delivered anyway.

Are there anymore problems that comes with that position??

I have my 20 week scan Friday so I will see what position he’s in then! Just curious about it all! X

I'm 25 weeks and babies still in transverse position. Dr said that he should move into head down position of his own accord closer to due date and didn't seem concerned.
However the pain in my hips from the position he's in is another thing entirely.
You're still early in the pregnancy yet, the midwife and drs arent normally concerned with position until you get later in pregnancy and if it doesn't look like they'll move head down. At the moment our wombs are still quite roomy for the bubbas and so they will move around a fair bit and quite often choose transverse as it's comfy. As they grow and space becomes limited that's when they should start to turn head down.

Thanks. Not concerned as such as I know I’ll have a section. I have read there’s plenty of time to turn. Now you have mentioned hip pain though that doesn’t sound so nice. I’m only 19+4. Xx

It's painful and v.uncomfortable I think that's prob the main issue with transverse. As they basically lay across hipbones so.all the weight is down low.

Oh my goodness. I really hope your baby moves for you soon so you feel more comfortable xx

Thank you, I hope your bubba moves so you don't experience it. Xx

Hiya :)
So mine little boy was transverse at 38 weeks. The hospital scanned to confirm and admitted me in to hospital, telling me I would need to stay in and have an elective due to the risk of umbilical prolapse should I have gone into early labour. Luckily, after a few days, he shifted slightly so he was diagonal, and the feet were blocking the uterine opening, thereby reducing the risk of said prolapse. I was discharged from hospital, but still had to have my' c section.
Try not to worry though, your baby has plenty of time to move :)

I'm 39 weeks with my second which was transverse until 36 weeks. They don't start worrying until 36/37 weeks. Compared to last time where baby was head down from 28 weeks and engaged at 36 weeks it's been so much easier and more comfortable, I was running all the way through until 38 weeks. And without the bladder pressure I didn't have to stop to wee!
