I'm almost 30 weeks. Baby is breech been awake for the past 5 hours. I've always been a bad sleeper but this is killing me. I've had painful Braxton Hicks and a very bizarre vibrating feeling very low in my bump. Is there any hope for me?

Braxton Hicks aren't supposed to hurt, I'd personally call your maternity unit and go and get checked out

I would also say call your midwife, straight away, that doesn't sound quite right and they would much rather see you and it all be okay than you leave it x

I should have added that two weeks ago I had most insanely painful BHs and I went to the hospital, it turned out to be nothing!

I'm also visiting my MIL so not my local hospital.

Yes that’s good advice don’t let them fob you off on the phone, emphasise your symptoms, sounds like you need to be examined relatively quickly to work out what’s happening. You could be going into early labour but try not to panic as baby is more than viable around 30 weeks. You will feel much better once you see a professional in person x

And now have a horrible headache, my heart is racing and want to throw up, but I'm sure that's down to not sleeping. With two false alarms in the past month I think I'll just have to se how today goes. (Baby is moving fine).

Rainbow you need to be seen asap to rule out preeclampsia, early labour, infection etc. Please phone your maternity unit or go to the nearest hospital.

Deffo ring maternity triage it is what they are there for 🌺 good luck! It might just be nothing but better to know for deffo instead of worrying in my eyes! Good luck x

Also say for instance it was early labour, there are lots of drugs that can be given to stop it!
Also as other people echo, hicks shouldn’t hurt. I get them all the time but you can just feel my bump getting really tight; then it relaxes again. Not hugely comfy, but painful no.

novicegardener01 · 16/08/2019 07:13

@Rainbowhairdontcare please don't wait

Itsonlytuesdayqwer · 16/08/2019 07:19

It also doesn’t matter that it’s not your local hospital, jsut google maternity triage for the area and it will give you contact details.
They wouldn’t have access to your notes fully but they can at least give you the once over, so blood pressure urine and monitor baby!

MrsMozartMkII · 16/08/2019 07:22

Get the to a hospital to be checked lass.

Hopefully it's nothing, but is it really worth the risk (no ? mark as it's a rhetorical question).

olderthanilookapparently · 16/08/2019 07:46

Please call the local maternity unit straight away

Bambamber · 16/08/2019 12:52

The midwives would much rather see you multiple times for false alarms than miss the one time you may need some intervention
