I've never known anything like it.

I have insomnia now too, I cannot sleep at all. I was up til gone 5am and alarm off st 6 for work.

In at the point where I could literally sit in bed and cry when it's time to get up. I almost fell asleep at the wheel on my way to work.

What on earth can I do to combat this tiredness? I dread work, I dread leaving the house I am that exhausted. I just cant cope.

How many weeks are you? If it's
So bad it's effecting your safety driving if consider getting signed off for a bit.

Pregnancy exhaustion is a killer. I suffer really badly ... had to nap twice Saturday while DH took the kids out

I'm only just coming up to 18 weeks! I think it's more the insomnia maybe?

I'm terrified of having to be signed off work, it will cause so much bad blood and a tension I cant face that. I just need to wake up Sad

I was the same OP. Had complications all the way through, thought my baby was going to die at one point, scabs every week, a Doppler every day for the last month, three hospital admissions. God it was awful. I remember the insomnia being one of the worst bits. DS is 9 months old now and I don't get any more sleep than I did in pregnancy! Not meaning to sound all doom and gloom, but I would suggest maternity leave as early as 35 weeks (I worked until the day before I gave birth and regret this) and relax as much as you can now. It's really shit, but you'll get there and this will all be a distant memory. Sympathies. Good luck.

Fuck work if you being signed off sick with pregnancy related illness will cause tension! It makes my blood boil whenever I read that. You are carrying a precious baby that depends on you to keep it alive. If you are not well enough to work, you owe it to yourself and your child to take it easy. So sorry your work are making you feel that way. Doctors don't sign off pregnant women for no reason. If you are signed off, please, please listen to your doc

I was the same OP, it eased off in the 2nd trimester, but returned in the 3rd.

Fresh air helps, if you work at a desk try & get outside for a few minutes every couple of hours

I was the same but it eased off when the placenta had fully formed and took over. It usually happens around 18-20 weeks so fingers crossed you'll start to feel better soon.

Try a sick note or just go on sick leave for a few days (self-certify)?
I had it nowhere as bad as you but found that exercise helped, even if I really had to force myself to go to the gym in the evenings. (If you can manage!) Maybe that could help with the insomnia as well? Hope it improves!

PoppingOneOutIn2020 · 13/08/2019 12:22

Thanks everyone, I'll give it another week or so and see if it starts to ease off.

Works hard because it costs them alot to get cover, I'm a dental nurse.. and innit blessed in the height department so I find it very hard to work chair side sat down. So I'm often standing for the full 8 hours a day.

I knew I'd be tired but I didnt realise just how much it would take a toll on working life. I just assumed I'd be going to bed earlier.. niave first pregnancy eh? Blush

Hi, I'm sorry you're going through this, I hope it gets better. But I definitely would recommend you get the rest you need, the work will be there once you feel better.
I've been listening to my body every morning to see if I feel like going into work or not, and to be honest my rest is so much more important than tiring myself out at work.

I know it can't be easy for you but try and figure out your options with your workplace.

All the best!

I really feel for you, it’s the worst. Only suggestions - cut out all caffeine and sugar etc.
