Panorama- no result

I did the Panorama with a twin pregnancy at 10w1 and the results have come back as a no result due to too little Fetal fraction. I’m so so disappointed. Anyone had this and then had a result at the redraw? Thank you.

Sorry, I have no idea what a panorama is? 😳

10+1 is very early for NIPT. I think most people get a sufficient sample on a retest but I would give it at least a week before trying again.

They’ve advised me to come in at 12 weeks, which is in a couple of days time. Better timing you think?
*Panorama test is a blood test for chromosomal disorders like Downs.

I would have thought at 12 weeks you'll get clear results. I had my NIPT at 10+3 and got results without a redraw.

Yes, 12 weeks should be fine as there should be a greater quantity of fetal cells in your blood and therefore more chance they will get enough.

I had the Panorama at 9+0 and it worked. Are you on the larger side? I think I read that larger mums might need to wait longer.

No I have a BMI of 21!

Grin lol my BMI has never been that low... just bad luck then...

I’m having twins. Perhaps that’s a factor?!?

I had it at 14 weeks and got results but I'm almost certain there was something in the leaflet about twin pregnancies being different. Mind you, I'm sure they would have told you that at the time of the test if it was an issue?

JoJoSM2 · 08/08/2019 20:50

Wouldn’t there be more free DNA with 2 babies rather than one? It could just be one of those quirks of every pregnancy being different.
