I'm 37 weeks and my pregnancy is high risk with induction planned at 39 weeks. Baby is engaged and over last ten days I've had back ache, slight clear out (sorry) mucus show, very heavy feeling such as when I walk my waters feel like there bulging. My dates could be out 2 weeks either way as didn't find out I was pregnant until approx 3o weeks. My babys moving but movements have reduced a lot today could this be in preparation for labour or am I looking to much in to signs of labour. He is still active just not quite as active

You need to get checked out.

Reduced fetal movements can be a sign of distress. If you are already high risk, I wouldn’t want to take any chances.

They would rather you get checked and everything be okay, than to risk it.

GoodBoyGhost · 07/08/2019 16:52

If you have reduced movements you should contact your maternity assessment unit asap

Reallybadidea · 07/08/2019 16:52

You need to phone labour ward. Any decrease in movements needs investigating. It's almost certainly fine but please go and get checked.

xJune88 · 07/08/2019 16:53

Please go get checked. Sure baby is ok but better to be safe xx

Sausagessausagesandchips · 07/08/2019 16:54

Another one here saying please get checked out. I can't speak to current advice but, when I was pregnant 3-4 years ago, I was told that it's a dangerous myth that movements significantly slowing or stopping is a sign of labour.

Cleanmywindows · 07/08/2019 16:54

They are always so nice in cases like this. Please don't feel you are wasting anyone's time. Call maternity triage and they will almost certainly have you come in to get checked over. Do it now, you'll feel better once you have.

BagelDog · 07/08/2019 16:55

Could be getting ready for labour but impossible to tell. Call labour ward or your midwife or whatever local protocol is and get checked out please.

CmdrCressidaDuck · 07/08/2019 16:55

Contact maternity triage asap, and follow their advice.

ohmysoul · 07/08/2019 16:57

Please get checked ASAP

DollyDaisyMayMight · 07/08/2019 16:58

Go to triage. No one on Mumsnet can monitor your baby or do your observations from afar. A midwife in hospital can.

Fundays12 · 07/08/2019 17:02

Please get checked my middle son had to be induced at 37 weeks as he had reduced movements caused by placenta issues. He was rushed to scbu as he couldn’t breathe or feed properly but is now a healthy 2 year old.

OrangeSlices998 · 07/08/2019 17:42

It’s a myth babies slow down before labour, a reduction in movements needs to be checked. Don’t sit at home worrying, go into your hospital and be seen. Hope all is okay xxx

Banjodancer · 07/08/2019 17:43

There is never any answer to a reduced movement question other than "get it checked out" because that is the only thing to do.

Angelinthenightx · 07/08/2019 18:07

Babies movements shouldnt slow down even close to birth so id say the same as other go get checked out its what they are there for. Ive been to see them many times with this pregnancy & they are nice they would rather u went to see them.

hormonesorDHbeingadick · 07/08/2019 18:09

Babies do not have reduced movement in the lead up to labour. I hope you are being checked out now.

HappyGirl86 · 07/08/2019 19:08

I went several times to get checked with reduced movements- they were always very understanding and never made me feel like a pain! Please do get checked

titnomatani · 07/08/2019 19:34

GET THIS CHECKED OUT ASAP OP. This happened to me and I was straight into theatre for an ECS.

Moolice · 08/08/2019 12:23

Please if you haven't already go and get checked. My little girl went quiet and I put it down to getting ready for labour. Please go and get checked and don't ever worry you are being a nuisance. Your baby being okay is more important. Keep an eye on kick counts too.

Mamapop1 · 08/08/2019 15:06

My 3rd was still full dancing in my uterus during labour (which was a pain for heart rate monitoring of her).

Don't post on here, instead ring your MW please!!
