Christmas when due in Jan

I'm due on 2 January, and the idea of a big family Christmas fills me with horror.

I really don't want too be around hundreds of aunts (I have a big family) all saying "not long now!" ad nauseam.

Nor do I want to be too far away from hospital.

Would I be insane to host a small Christmas (5/6 people) at my house, with all the food from M&S and DM and DH in charge of everything?

What are others with a Jan due date doing?

(Yes I know it's August, but some of my family live abroad so flights are being booked and I need a plan).

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

@anitagreen No its me worrying about that...haha. I am looking forward to a mid-January cheese board haha.

@anitagreen, no he's definitely not the only one! My dh and brother have both said if the baby comes while we're having Christmas dinner, I will 'just have to hold it in' until after pudding 😂

@Fivebyfive2 @McHelenz I'm glad we're not the only ones I said to him well you could always package it up on the plate tin foil it over and bring it with you , if it's the much of an issue? He was not amused but I do love a roast too and especially the cheese boards and gateaux after Grin

I'm hoping to avoid an NHS dinner 😂😂. But I'm guessing I'll be too huge to appreciate a big dinner by then.

@McHelenz Do you know what and my partner takes the mick so much but I love our hospitals food I had two babies 18months apart and had the same meal each time I can still picture it now it was so good. I know now it was a ready meal type thing but I can still taste it now! It was cottage pie, broccoli and I think peas hopefully third time lucky it's on the menu again Grin

I still remember the awful responsibility of choosing and unknown woman’s Christmas dinner before I set off for home with baby dd. And that was 22 years ago.
