I think I’m having a chemical pregnancy and if anyone had gone through it I just want to know what I should be expecting? Do I have to go to a hospital or a GP? Will they have to intervene or will I let the baby pass naturally in the comfort of my own home? Do I have to take anything such as a tablet or...? I just don’t trally know what to do as I would much rather stay at home an deal with this, I don’t want scabs or anything that could possibly upset me & I do t want to go the doctors but if needs must I will. If someone can offer some support or advice I would really appreciate it. TIA

Are you 5 weeks or less? Physically it will be like a period maybe a bit heavier - just have some paracetamol with codeine on standby

Absolutely don't bother with doctors / hospital / scans - they wouldn't be able to see anything anything and honestly there is really nothing they can do

Only go to hospital if you need to change a pad more than every 15 mins - but that really is very rare at this stage in pregnancy

I am only around 16 days .... I done a test just because of a missed period to find a very faint line on two tests... an then this has happened today, so I don’t need any one to intervene?

Hi @beckylou28
sorry you going through this - there really isn't any intervention that anyone could do at this stage - I've done 5 mc at home up to 12 weeks pregnancy and it's the best place to be - a&e on a Friday night is going to be carnage - it will take a couple hours just to get seen for a consult whilst running to the loo in front of strangers

Not going to lie the cramping can be painful and the bleeding can be heavy at times but plenty of painkillers and a hot water bottle should help

Have someone with you Just in case x

So they can’t do anything for me anyway, no tablets to help along or anything like that? Thank you for all your advice everyone I really appreciate it xx

There's no need to help it along if you've already had negative tests, it will just be like a normal period.

No need for any intervention your body will do everything it needs too. It will be more likely be a normal or possibly a bit of a heavier period like bleed this early on. There will be nothing to see at this stage as the embryo will still be at cell division stage and has failed to implant properly that’s why it’s called a chemical. It starts to produce slight amounts of hcg but there is an issue that prevents proper implantation. It’s microscopic levels x

I've had three. They were just like heavier periods that were a bit delayed. My cycle went back to normal by the next time.
