6 weeks with bleeding

Sorry lost post..

I’m currently exactly six weeks. From four weeks I have had constant brown bleeding, not enough for a pad as such, but there when I wipe and sometimes in my underwear. I had a scan because of this at 5 + 4 days, where we saw the gestational sack and the yolk sack. The nurse was happy with my progression and wants me back at 7 weeks to get a heartbeat as it was too early.

The evening after the scan (was trans-vaginal) I bled red for about 2 hours - again not enough for a pad - followed by brown ever since.

Will my baby be ok? Any positive stories?

@Russkispy she's really good thanks! She laughs a lot. 4 and a half months has flown by since her (difficult) birth following a tricky pregnancy! She didn't have any naps this afternoon though (cheeky monkey!!!!) so I was very thankful when she conked out without a fuss tonight.

Really hope you are doing ok!!! It's been a rough ole ride!

Still on and off brown spotting.

I had spotting from 6 weeks pretty much constantly till around 12 weeks but everything is going fine so far (19 weeks now). I was so worried when it started due to a previous miscarriage.

Anyway my Dr said that some women she sees do just bleed in pregnancy and there isn't a reason she knows for it but as long as your scans look good then that's a really good sign!

Thank you for your reassuring words. I think i will start to relax after my first trimester but doesn't help that I have anxiety i suppose! My last scan looked good and had a heartbeat fluttering away. So fingers crossed it stays that way!

Yes, it's impossible to not worry about it I think. My blood pressure was always sky high at appointments until 16 weeks when it was back to normal, although I did still feel nervous.

I was told by a nurse you will have anxieties until you hold your baby but then a new bunch of anxieties start 😂😂 xx

Unfortunately for some women it happens but can be okay.

I am now 9+4. I had red bleeding at 7+3 just like yours for a few hours and then it went brown. Had a scan at the EPU the next day and everything was fine and baby and heartbeat still there (I was that bit further along than you so already had the heartbeat).

At 7+6 I had the worst bleeding I had ever had - it was heavy red with massive clots to the point that I just had to stay on the toilet as there was so much blood. I was absolutely convinced I miscarried. The bleeding went for about an hour and then lightened and went brown the next day. I had to wait until 8+2 to be seen at the EPU and everything was still fine and I was told I had a subchorionic haematoma (a blood vessel for the placenta burst, which is common and more common in IVF pregnancies). They say that when it happens it is like a tap turning on.

At the scan baby was still fine and growing away. They said that the rest of the blood from it would either be re-absorbed or I would have further brown bleeding and I have had bleeding since, but no more red blood.

I hope that helps reassure that red blood is not always terrible news (even if it feels like the worst thing at the time) but get checked out at the EPU and hopefully everything will be okay for you.

Thank you for your response. That must have been so scary for you. I would have been terrified! How far along are u now? Xx

Just thought I’d give an update to you all. I had my second scan today where they saw little bean with a heartbeat who is more than twice the size growing lovely :)
They also found a haematoma so that’s where the bleeding is coming from.. the nurse said it’s tiny and will go on it’s own.

All looking up 😊 Thanks for all your support so far!!
