Hypnobirthing

Had anyone done this? I've got myself a book. I'm unsure whether to do the classes. Most of them cost £250 and beyond around here. But there's one lead by midwives at the hospital I'll be having the baby so maybe be worth it? If they aren't all booked up by now.

I'm not sure if it'll really be worth £250? I mean I'd like to and I'm doing some yoga classes that are very much about breathing with some meditation and relaxing. So wondering if the book and yoga would be enough.

Technically we can afford the £250 it'll be fine but i don't want to go throwing money around what with all other expenses.

I'm sure hypnobirthing itself is with learning... But just wondering if i really need to spend£250 to do so...

I bought the positive birth company online course when it was on offer but it’s normally £39. Haven’t started yet but I’ve only heard good things and you get access to a Facebook group where people share their positive birth stories which is lovely. Why not try that and the book first and see if it’s for you?

I loved it with DD1. We didn't spend quite that much but I did find the classes and the input from a teacher helpful at the start. It was a bonus to do it with DH so he could prepare as my birth partner.

This time round I'm just topping up by listening to the self hypnosis tracks and re-reading the book.

If you can afford it and knew that you are the type likely to benefit (a bit anxious; apprehensive about your ability to cope with pain etc) and those particularl classes have good local reviews, then I'd go for it.

Well I'm a wuss with pain but i would like to be able to do it "naturally" mainly as i think being poked and prodded will make me very anxious and unrelaxed. And i know on labour wards it can be very busy so feel is have more support at the midwife led birthing suite.

I don't like fuss and i like calm. So i think this would be a good thing to learn. I'll look into the positive birthing thing... Thanks!

I bought the positive birth company online pack and have loved it so far! They do offers quite often so you can usually get it for a discount if you have time to wait.

You get loads of material for your money and can watch/read in your own time and make sure you take it all in.

Another vote for positive birthing pack. I heard about it through here and enjoying it so far!
