a soft, minimally supportive nursing bra?

Hi!

I have found a bra that I'm reasonably happy with for after birth, but I am struggling to find something for the early days of breastfeeding where I absolutely hate having anything touching my nipples!

Even though I have breastfed all my kids, every time I give birth, my nipples always bleed, and those first few weeks are horrendous. I end up just wearing a T shirt with nothing on some of the time, as anything touching my nipples hurts them. I did try some nipple shields once before, which I may try to find again!

Cotton bras sometimes aren't great as the fibres stick on my nipple. I hate the thickness and unbreathable polyester type bras too, as I get hot.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what I can wear? There are a million sleep type bras out there, I tried some from bravado I think it was, and even at a higher price point I found the material thick, and the band digging into my breast tissue, as unlike fitted bras where you can adjust the band, you can't with a sleep type bra.

I would really appreciate any suggestions for anything you have tried and which has suited.

Thank you!

I got a set of 2 crop top type bras from M&S for £14 and have also bought a similar design from B&M called Bravellous which were only £5:99 for 2 and are very soft. I plan to see how I get on with them in the early days when my milk is coming in and supply settling. I hate non wired bras with a passion so these are the most comfortable I’ve come across that I will make do with until I can get back into proper bras again.

What about a soft cotton triangle bra? Or a soft bralette? I wore these from M&S loads when i was breastfeeding, it is easy to stretch the cup away during a feed. You could also try organic bamboo breastpads in your bra to protect your nipples from the fabric?
