Pregnant again at nearly 43 after placental abruption

I was just wondering if anyone had experience of pregnancy after placental abruption. I had a full abruption when my youngest son was born six weeks early four years ago. I was in hospital already and had immediate c-section so they saved us both, but I needed three blood transfusions and we were both in intensive care for a week afterwards. I am now ten weeks pregnant pregnant with number three and was wondering what I might expect in terms of monitoring. I haven’t had my booking appointment yet but should have appointment through soon. Thanks.

You'll be high risk, both midwife and consultant led and also be offered more scans later on. Beyond that I'm not sure

As PP said, you’ll most likely be high risk and consultant led (though no direct experience of abruption).
I would chase the booking appointment maybe, your first scan should be 12 weeks-ish so they are not leaving much time to organise it?

I had a placental abruption my little boy was born 11 weeks early and like you I needed blood transfusions and emergency c section this was 6 years ago, I then went on to have a healthy pregnancy with my little girl 3 years later and that pregnancy was perfect, I'm now pregnant again, so things can go right after x
