Currently looking to get bits and bobs organised. I would like a bouncer/swing for when baby is little, any recommendations? Don’t want to spend £200 on one.

Following as I wondered the same

I got this one:

www.amazon.co.uk/Red-Kite-Baby-Linen-Bouncer/dp/B074ZP7X6P/ref=sr_1_1?s=gateway&keywords=red+kite+bouncer&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1564343894&sr=8-1

It was only £25 when I got it, but you can find it cheaper on other sites. I managed to squeeze him into it until he was 8 months old.

Thanks @sewinginscotland did it soothe him and keep him occupied??

Nothing soothed him when he was a newborn, unfortunately. The first time I put him in it without crying was Christmas Eve, he was 8 weeks old. But when he got bigger he would let me shower while he was in it, he spent at least a month trying to get the star in his mouth. The toys are removable, you could replace them easily. We actually took out the box that does the sound and vibration, it didn't do anything for him.

I had a joie 2in1 they are pricey at £150 bit with every penny.

This is a bit pricey but is a swing, high chair, low chair and can lie down at any level and is on wheels that lock so easy to move.

The cushion allowed us to use it from about 1-2 months old (it may be from birth?) and the toy bar is good as you can hang any toys on it rather than them have the same boring ones.

It lasts until about 3 years I think so even though it's expensive it's worth it. It was the only place dd would day-sleep until she was about 14 months!

Second hand Mamaroo. From birth it soothed her and meant I could get loads done. She loved it until about 5 months, when she could sit unaided and no longer wished to be restrained in any way.

That, the Sleepyhead and the Snoozeshade were the best baby items we bought - and we got them all second hand!

AmC39 · 29/07/2019 06:38

@nomushrooms I would love a mamaroo but they are so expensive and I won’t be having any more babies after this one lol very hard to get second hand! I have been looking at the sleepyhead type products they weren’t on the market when I had my dd do you used this instead of a Moses basket etc during the day?

Well DD was a horrific wriggler as a newborn (reflux) so we actually got the SH for nighttime to stop her getting so many bruises and odd looks from HVs at weigh ins! Still sleeps in it now at 8 months, and we’ve just got hold of a Grand to move her into next.

Day sleeps I can’t comment on I’m afraid as yes she slept in it during the sleepy newborn phase in the daytime, but as soon as she became more alert she started training for the Nap Fighting Olympics and so will only nap in her buggy with the Snoozeshade over it to make it pitch black (and combat her FOMO).
