Maternity wear in shops - where do you go?

Why is it so hard to find?

When I was last pregnant in 2007 you could get it in the big high street stores, especially if you were in a city like Birmingham - Topshop, New Look, H&M, Dorothy Perkins etc all had maternity clothing in store.

For some reason, I thought this would be even better all these years later, but I was in Birmingham recently and none of the shops stocks it in-store, it's all online only.

If you need to buy something, where are you meant to go? I am truly puzzled by its disappearance!

I bought a few dresses and nursing tops from Lidl when they had a baby event. Also bought tops/dresses in new look and also in h&m. Other than that, I just bought clothes that were a size or two bigger

Try Boohoo.com I just ordered some stuff off there and Mumsnet have a discount code (BABYBUMP30) for 30% off which is valid until the end of August!

I'm from bicester so in our high street we don't really have a lot of the big shops (no I'm not on about bicester village because its apparently not designer to be pregnant)
I found some good clothes in H&M in Banbury, but bought a lot of clothes from George in Asda online as well as New Look online. Not badly priced, maybe worth a look online.

@MummyBear405 I've had a lot off off boohoo but find most stuff so cheap and seethrough. I kept a couple of jumpsuits for at home but I couldn't wear them outside lol

I live near a fairly large shopping centre and the only place I could find decent maternity wear in store was H&M, they also have it in the store in our local retail park.

Sizing is typical H&M weird, and the pricing is all over the place! £25 for jeans but £18 for two vest tops?! I got some good stuff though, and by choosing wisely with tops & dresses was able to use them for nursing too once DS arrived.

Mothercare also stock maternity wear in store, perhaps not very trendy but ok for basics. I also had some stretchy/loose/elasticated under the bust clothing from Primark.

Primark is good for the giant granny pants that you'll need once baby arrives, and cheap nighties & flip flops for hospital.
