Does anyone have experience of this??
Im only 32.5 and this past week it has become so bad in both hands...
I constantly wear a splint on both hands, but they're both numb and painful 85% of the day. It's hard for me to drive due to being unable to properly grip the steering wheel, hard for me to continue my job as i can hardly hold anything, can't sleep due to the pain...
Does anyone have any tips? I can't imagine this being worse over the next several weeks...
I'll do anything at the point. I just can't believe how quickly it progressed!

EDIT:
i sleep sitting up (well, at a70° angle propped up by pillows) with both my hands in splints, resting on pillows.
I've tried alternating hot and cold submersion.

i had it with my daughter and she's nearly one now. it was horrific. people suggested cold water too but it didn't help me. my doctor suggested a splint but i never got one. i woke up crying on a couple of occasions because it was just the worst pain ever. like yours, it got really bad fairly quickly. funny thing is though, the second my little girl was born, it was gone.

I had this too in my first pregnancy. Unfortunately nothing helped but it did disappear as soon as DD was born. Although yours sounds worse than mine, I had it badly in the morning but it improved throughout the day.

It will go once you have had the baby however it's not instant. Mine wasn't as bad as yours and I lost grip a couple of time when picking dd up from her crib.

Go and see a physio. They won't be able to resolve it but they can give you exercises to help until you get to the end of your pregnancy.

Dinolady · 20/07/2019 09:31

Can we self refer to a physio?
There's no way I'll be able to make it to the end without one

I am struggling with this right now!
I'm 40 weeks and have had carpal tunnel in both hands for the last 4-5 weeks. It's awful. I wake up with the sorest hands. I can't bend my fingers enough to make a fist and the joints around my hand/wrist are particularly painful in the mornings. Cannot feel anything except tingling in my fingers which is a struggle. I've been wearing a splint and soaking them in cold water but it does nothing!

BellaNutella88 · 20/07/2019 13:03

I’ve has this also. One hand worse than the other and couldn’t grip. I barely used the hand but that actually made it worse. Try flexing your fingers etc to keep circulation going and keep using the splints. I use mine over night. I did try acupuncture with my physio but it didn’t do anything. I think it’s supposed to ease off after baby comes, fingers crossed !

I wonder if this is what's wrong with me. My fingers are swollen and when I bend my fingers, some of them almost get "stuck" in that position. They're sore throughout the day but the morning is worst. I always put my hards above my head and wiffle them till they feel better and that seems to sort them for the day, but they are still swollen.

I had this too. The pain was shocking and I didn't know how to cope with it. In the end my GP suggested a steroid injection which is not normally done in later pregnancy! Wishing you all the best!

3boysandabump · 20/07/2019 20:50

I got it in my first pregnancy and despite what everyone said it didn't go away after.

It got progressively worse with each pregnancy and by pregnancy number 4 it was so painful it had me in tears.

GP gave me steroid injections and it cleared up almost immediately. I've also never had it since
