Low platelets

Good evening ladies
I am nearly 30 weeks now and after seeing the midwife today I have found my platelets are low again (they have been monitored almost from day one as I had low platelets with my first born) they did go up to 157 a couple of weeks ago but have dropped down again to 122. I have been seeing a consultant who has gone through the motions of what happens if they go below 100 and then below 80 and he's said I can't have ventouse, baby can't have a clip on it's head and I can't have a "difficult" forceps delivery (my first born I ended up in theatre with forceps and he was a 10lb baby)
I know now that a water birth is probably almost definitely out the window as they said they can't measure blood loss, so I was wondering if anyone else had been in this position and how their births had gone. There was talk of an elective c section but I think I still want to avoid that if possible. Are second babies really much bigger than number 1 and are second births really quicker than first births? Sorry for the essay my mind is spinning!!! Xx

Hi, I can’t help you with most of your thread but didn’t want to read and run!
I can tell you that my first born was 20hours until delivery and my second was 1hr 50mins TOTAL, for all stages! (Also my current mw thinks I probably was ready to deliver within 20mins 😮)
I only have small babies but first was 5lb12 and second 6lb6 so dc2 was definitely bigger! However dc3 was only 5lb13 and his labour was longer than dc2 but still quite fast! I am now expecting dc4, I think this is going to be my biggest yet and quite scared I won’t make it to the hospital which is over an hour away (also consultant led care and have to be monitored throughout labour/delivery)
I would recommend writing down ALL your concerns & questions, and literally question everything when you next see your consultant - make sure you know every single option so you can make an informed choice!
There was speak of me having an elcs which I think I’ve managed to avoid - but if this were the best option for myself and my baby I would choose it! (I have consultant on Friday so I guess will see what she says then, but so far everything has gone to plan so mw thinks they will allow me to have a natural delivery and induce at term if baby isn’t here by then!)
As this is likely my last consultant app before the baby arrives I am taking my mum AND DH with me to be my advocates and ask questions I will probably forget to ask lol - or things I haven’t even thought of anyway!
Sorry for waffling on, good luck, try to read any info you can and definitely make sure you make an informed choice xxx
