3 or 4 wheelers?

What is the difference use wise between a 3 wheeled pram, or 4?
Obviously the number of wheels but what is your preferred choice and why?

Also, brands? What's best?

I had a silver cross Wayfarer (4 wheels) and a Phil&Teds Dot (3).

The 3 wheeler is easier to push and can turn in really tight spots, and is just generally nippier. Cons are that the narrower footprint means the basket isn’t as big and it can be tricky popping it back up on a kerb as the front wheel can spin a lot.

I waaay prefer the 3 wheels- there’s a reason you see so many City Minis and Out N About Nippers about the place. I’ve noticed people who bought either of those brands first stuck with it until their dc was walking, whereas those of us with “proper” prams swapped them for a lightweight buggy once the baby got heavier.

I prefer 4 wheels as it's so much more secure when going up curbs and stuff I had a 3 wheeled once an some one nearly feel on top on my daughter while pushing the buggy

I had a silvercross pioneer and an out n about 360 for running. I put the silvercross away pretty much as soon as I started using the 360, it's so much easier. You do need to be careful of peoples ankles though!

3 wheels. I had a cossato giggle at first, then an out n about nipper double. It's the best ever. I sold the cossato and bought a nipper single second hand.

4 wheels is my fave, bugaboo is my fave pram had last time & got again for this baby. I do lots of walking so i need a bigger sturdy pram. id say it depends on how much u will be using your pram on what type u should get.

3 wheeled best for anything other than smooth pavements. Another vote for the out and about nipper, it’s fab. We got a second hand bugaboo cameleon for £100 and used that for the early carrycot days, now at nearly 6 months the nipper is all we use and I’m about to sell on the bugaboo. First time round we had the icandy peach all terrain which was fab - used it for a year then got a cheap stroller.

Four wheels seem more secure and stable to me.

Our three wheel City Mini GT is amazing for off road and country walks. I also have a Cosatto Giggle 2 which I use for around town when it's just going to be pavements as DD is still small and City Mini only world faces unless I use car seat and I have a bad back at the moment and want to keep lifting it to minimum at the moment. But if it wasn't for that, I'd use City Mini exclusively as it's such a great pram.

I'm quite rural if that makes a difference.
I live just outside of a town in a village with no shops, just a hairdressers lol. So I have to drive to get anywhere really. Although I do enjoy walks... i just have to drive to go for a walk.

Everything here for kids is based in the woods or similar. So the ground is almost never smooth and I can imagine that makes a difference to the type of pram I'll need? Beautiful place to live, just not very convenient.
