Wearing a backpack while pregnant?

I'm going on holiday next week and we're travelling around quite a bit so I'd usually take a backpack rather than suitcase for this kind of trip. I'm only 12 weeks so no bump yet but wanted to hear if anyone had any experience wearing backpacks when pregnant or if this is not recommended? (probably be around 14-15kg weight). Also if so should I still wear the waist belt?

I could take a suitcase but backpack will be easier for cramming into compartments on trains and small hotel rooms etc. Just wanted to check it was safe!

I think a back pack would be better for weight distribution than a suitcase. Your ligaments are looser so you need to be careful with your joints and take care to not over heat.

Carrying heavy things does not pose a risk to baby. Has you get more pregnant then your centre of balance moves rapidly and it can be difficult to keep up with making you more likely to fall.

Have a lovely time and if your going somewhere sunny remember your skin is more sensitive to the sun.

I wore a big backpack until I was 26ish weeks because I teach so it had my MacBook and paperwork in it. Absolutely fine, nothing to worry about.

No reason not to wear a backpack. Use the waist belt if it’s comfortable. I found backpacks really comfortable towards be end of pregnancy as they provided a counterweight to my bump and made me feel a bit more balanced!
