7+3 bleeding on what would be when period due

I'm currently 7+3 and this morning when I went to the toilet I noticed brown blood on the toilet paper, the weird thing is that if I wasn't pregnant, today would be when my regular period would be due. Has anyone else experienced this? I had a missed miscarriage earlier this year so I'm worried I'm losing this one as well now Sad

So sorry to hear you're worrying. Unfortunately I can't really help but brown blood is always more promising as it's old blood. I had an early miscarriage last month and it started at purple/pink blood then very quickly to red.
Spotting can be normal in early pregnancy and I'm sure everything is just fine but as you have a history I'd call your dr or epu and get their advise or if they'll see you, either will help put your mind at rest 💕

Do you ovulate late?

ahhgowan · 12/07/2019 10:14

I'm not sure if I ovulate late. I didn't know if I should bother phoning midwives to go to epu because last time they didn't have an appointment for a week and I've got a private scan booked for Sunday anyway so I might just wait and see what happens then. It's so hard all the waiting and not knowing. I just recently got it in my head that this pregnancy would be fine as the odds are in my favour for not having two miscarriages in a row but now looks like it might be happening again Sad

Yes I had this with my first pregnancy. Had a very small amount of red/brown spotting on the day of what would have been my next period. Had a scan at EPU and all was fine but obviously worrying! I would always get any spotting checked out at your EPU regardless. Hope all is ok xx

Yes I had this although I didn't realise it until I got back from being checked over at hospital. Brown spotting and a small amount of red just on exactly the day my second period would have been due. I panicked as I had had a previous miscarriage but when I was examined my cervix was closed and they could see no reason for the bleeding apart from some slight carvical erosion. Currently 26+2 😁. Hope yours turns out OK, has the bleeding stopped? x

I started bleeding at around 6 weeks, brown blood whenever I wiped (varying amounts). I have a short cycle so maybe it was when my period would have been due - not sure. I'd had a MC before and was sure it was the start of another but it wasn't and a scan showed the baby was fine.

Anyway, it turned out ok for me. I bled until 12 weeks and now I'm 15 weeks and everything is looking ok with no more bleeding.

Glad to hear others have experienced this and it's turned out ok. The bleeding stopped then started again but it was a very light brown and more watery and now it's stopped again. I really don't know what to think and just hope for the best now. Hopefully the scan on Sunday will show a normal 7 week baby with a heartbeat. Being pregnant is too stressful.

I went for a scan today they said baby looked fine and had a heartbeat and they dated me two days ahead of what I thought I was Grin she couldn't see any reason for the bleeding.

@ahhgowan I'm glad to hear your scan went well! All the best for the rest of your pregnancy.

That's great news! For me I think the bleeding was hormonal/a first trimester symptom like the tiredness and nausea so maybe its the same for you. It's so hard not to worry though x
