Hi guys. Not first pregnancy. Not planned. Just had 12 week scan and discovered there's two of them!!

May I ask, those of you with twins, what do you wish you had known then, that you know now? What do you feel has been a lifesaver? What did you stress about and it turned out to be no big deal?

What products could you not live without and what was a waste of time? Anything you would do differently?

Please help Flowers

Also, if I work out how to attach the images, if anyone can make sense of that "nub" thing, please enlighten us with your guesses as to what either may be? Xx

If you’ve got another young child you MAY need a 7 seater. Simply because most 5-seater cars aren’t wide enough to accommodate 3 big child seats.

Most 7 seaters are a bit wider. So you can get all 3 seats side-by-side in the middle row (and just leave the back row folder down).

True. We managed with 3 car seats in our 5 seater citroen though.

Did any of you successfully breastfeed your twins? Or am I being overly hopeful at the idea of doing that long term to keep them satisfied enough. I'm wondering how you even hold two babies.

Buggies, did you get side by side, so you can see both, but barely fit through doors, or stacked, so one is on top of the other so you can't see both equally but can manoeuvre better?

I have a side by side buggy and doors are usually ok but I have developed an intense hatred of people who park on the pavement!
I tried bf and regret not trying for longer but it was hard with an older child too. I'd have been tied to the sofa all day! If I'd only had the twins I'd have persevered I think.

We've got an 11yr old boy...now we've suddenly got this! Not exactly sure how he's going to cope with the news. Hopefully the novelty of twins will pacify the fact that he's going to be starting his GCSEs and we've lumped him with two screaming toddlers.

At least he'll be able to help!

Congratulations!! I have 9 month old ID boys. They are an absolute joy these days and I really enjoy them. I had to get them into a routine to get to this point though. Gina Ford gets some negativity on here but her twin book was a game changer for us. Started her routine at 4 months when things were getting really tough and within a couple of days boys were napping together for 2 hr stretches and at 7 months they started sleeping through from 7pm til 6 without any disturbances. They genuinely do keep each other company even at this age, they are much more content to play without my constant interaction then my singleton ever was. This enables me to get essential jobs done. All in all it has been a wonderful experience so far. I was so anxious when i found out it was twins and the highly medicalised pregnancy didn't help, but everything went smoothly in the end. Good luck :)

Congratulations.
I’m a mum to two sets of twins.
It is hard work but always remember that each stage only lasts a short time.
Accept help, accept that you can’t do everything.
And get into a routine early on. It’s a blooming life saver.
