Hello Ladies,

We are expecting twins and would love to hear from other twin Mums what purchases they made that were great and ones that they would not bother with?

Many thanks

congratulations!
in terms of sleeping arrangements, we had 2 of these, and put one either side of our bed. it meant that i could feed them easily at night and I liked being able to see them.

I would recommend only getting one bouncy chair and one swing. chances are, both babies will like different things and so its pointless getting 2.. we got this swing and this bouncer

get lots of muslins. they are a great suggestion if people ask what you need, because you use them so so often (and with 2 babies, you need them 24/7)

we had this sterlizer and it was great, I could fit a lot of bottles in it meaning i always had one clean

all the best x

I am carrying MCDA twins, due to deliver by section on 1st August at 36 weeks

We decided early on that our newborns are going to share the same cot initially. We have one for our bedroom, and one downstairs in living room for daytime naps. We need two cots anyway so this makes sense! We chose the larger cot bed style that converts into a toddler bed in time. Both more economical as there's no need to change to bigger bed later, and practical as there is more room for them to share. Every carer of twins I know skipped the moses basket stage and went straight to cot. TAMBA website has loads of safe sleep advice for multiples so check that out!

We have two cars, but there's no way I was buying four carseats! We bought two maxi cosi Cambiofix because they are light, easily transferred between csrs, suitable for tiny babies (your twins are likely to be premature by few weeks) and really well reviewed.

Also it sounds illogical but consider breastfeeding for convenience. I have a twin mum friend who swore it was easier than sterilising and preparing for two!

And if you haven't already, check tamba. Once we got over the shock, they have been such a help.
