Didn't want to know but pretty convinced I saw some boy parts at the scan! Liked the idea of a surprise and now convinced it's a boy (and no, I don't secretly want a boy!)

Anyone had this and been in major shock at the birth? I know shock finding outat 20 weeks but not when actually have the baby Shock

Didn’t find out with dc2 - 100% convinced I was having a second boy, everyone I knew thought I was having a boy! My mum randomly bought 1 girly outfit and kept it in the car despite being convinced of a boy! I now have an 11 year old girl (next month!)
This time with dc4 I was convinced I was having a 3rd boy but have checked at each and every scan (20week scan and 3 growth scans so far!) and they’ve said girl each time! No signs of dangly bits 😂 and since I’ve gone all out girly for the first time they had better be right 😝

We were convinced we'd have a boy. My husband right up to the end and me up to the 20 week scan.
I thought I saw something missing in that area and started to think it was a girl. I had to keep reminding my husband we could have a girl so he wouldn't be disappointed.
We had a girl. It was still a big shock when we were told but a wonderful surprise.

I was convinced my first was a boy, I had to have the midwife tell me several times he, was in fact, a she.

If it looks like a little burger underneath then it's a girl. So 3 lines.

I was convinced and wanted a boy and so was everyone round me talking about my bump and symptoms etc that I was having a boy but confirmed late on before birth it was a girl and out she came.

I adore her. Congratulations on your baby!

Like @DramaAlpaca, other way round. I think.

I’ve been convinced - Mothers Instinct - that I’m carrying a girl. Didn’t want to find out at the 20w scan, but saw something that may have been a willy. Didn’t confirm with the sonographer, who was stoic in referring to ‘baby’ rather than his/he/him or otherwise.

So now, although we may be swaying towards ‘him’, we’re actually not really sure. And it’s really not making any difference to our lives!! Just makes meeting baby in Nov all the more exciting! 😁😊

I’m convinced I’m having a boy! I had a scan at 22 weeks and though we don’t want to find out I was hoping for a little clue but nope, nothing! I had palm reading a while ago before I was pregnant and was told I’d have another boy but said psychic has been notorious for getting it wrong so we shall wait and see.

I’d love another boy but unfortunately only have girl names in mind!

I'm actually more excited now as thought I'd sussed it, but from these posts maybe I haven't! :D

devilishlygood (great username) our hospital wouldn't let sonographers tell parents the sex, but I asked ours if she could tell & she said, 'I've got more important things to do than search around looking for willies!' I think, looking back, she might have been dropping a little hint Grin

@Cuppa12345 @Leleophants yeah thats my DS bits at 15 weeks 😂
X

I was convinced from day one I was having a boy and I was right 😂
I read that sometimes you can tell on the 20 week scan if it's a boy if you can see two light patches where his groin is and they're his little testicles! Sure enough our 20 week scan had them and we welcomed our little boy into the world two weeks ago today ❤️

Cuppa12345 · 10/07/2019 22:01

I've been told I'm having a boy but I find girl's names so much easier so thought maybe if they are wrong, it would be easier 😂

FairyJuice · 10/07/2019 22:04

With my first 2, I instinctively knew what they were. Had a gender scan for dc1 at 27 weeks and dc2 at 20 weeks and was correct on both counts.

Opted for a surprise with dc3. Was totally convinced it was a boy. Ended up being a girl Grin

bugeyedbarber · 10/07/2019 22:48

Me. To the point that being knackered after a three day long slow labour I was shouting"take him out" when the midwife was telling me to push.

2 mins later DH was hysterically laughing while announcing it was a girl because for the whole 9 months I was banging on that my female intuition was telling me it was a boy Grin

BertrandRussell · 10/07/2019 23:51

I still remember after 22 years the delighted amazement in my dp’s voice when he said “It’s a girl!” Turned out that he wanted a girl as well and I had convinced him she was a boy too.

To be fair, he was equally delighted a few years later when he could say “It’s a boy!” And we had a name ready.

devilishlygood · 11/07/2019 07:19

I have to admit that, although it would have made no difference what we are expecting, having had such strong intuition for the first half of the pregnancy and then finding out the possibility I was wrong...well, it took a little adjusting! I can’t describe it as disappointment, but it did throw me off a bit 😬 Weird sensation

Mrsmummy90 · 11/07/2019 07:38

100% convinced that I was having a boy in both pregnancies. Both girls!
With dd1 I had a little reveal for our close family as they wanted one and when the pink balloons came out, my jaw dropped and I said "are you sure????"
