Hi, looking for some advice/reviews (not sure if this is the best place to post but here goes!). We've found the Next2Me in a sale from Baby Security and wanting some reviews, I've heard loads of good things about them but want to make sure it's definitely the right one, if not, are there any other similar ones that you'd recommend?

Also, has anyone ordered from the Baby Security before? They've had good reviews on Trust Pilot but never ordered from there!

TIA!

Not used baby security so can't help on that one.

I have next to me, it's fine. Good and portable. It is wobbly, more so than I would have expected. I don't use it as bed extension as we have a divan and the bed is to high. It packs away easily for going anywhere.

My friend has snuzpod and it seems much more sturdy.

I suppose it depends what you want it to do. If I had my time again I would get a swinging crib because DD prefers to be rocked, but I didn't know that then.

@homemadegin Ah, will have a look. I've heard good things about the next to me but there are so many it starts to hurt my head ha! I'll have a look at the Snuzpod too

Our Next2Me is amazing! It doesn't wobble at all - you can change ours from standing still to rocking mode so if it wobbles maybe it's got stuck halfway! I think it's bigger than a Snuzpod too - DD is five months now and not a small baby and think we will definitely get a few more months out of it.

We had ours attached to our Ikea Malm divan and side down was super convenient for night feeds. Now she is getting bigger we are preparing her for own room so have detached it and put side up.

The big draw for Snuzpod when I looked at them was the detachable bassinet but when I tried it in shop it was pretty heavy and unwieldy so couldn't see us carrying it up and down stairs

Celebelly · 09/07/2019 16:09

Ours is the 'Dream' version - I think there are variations between them all so worth checking.

theydontknowweknow · 09/07/2019 16:15

@Celebelly There are so many to choose from it's so confusing haha, we've also been looking at the Babylo Cozi Sleeper but not heard much about those.

I've seen a lot of reviews about the next to me lasting for a long time (compared to moses baskets etc). What do you have for baby during the day? Like you say, the Snuzpod can be taken downstairs but not sure I want to be carrying things up and down that are quite heavy!

@Celebelly that sounds much better. Mine doesn't rock, I would go for that if I could!

homemadegin · 09/07/2019 16:18

DD was so tiny I had to put the moses basket in the crib!

Moses basket sitting room crib bedroom when bigger.

Celebelly · 09/07/2019 16:20

We had a Moses basket downstairs and used it loads in first three months. It was just a cheap one from Asda but she did basically all daytime sleeping in it. We got a couple of extra stands too so we had one in kitchen, one in living room, etc. Moses baskets get a bad rap on here but ours was super worth it! If you have a pram bassinet you can just use that. Now she's bigger she tends to hang out on playmat or in her little sit me up chair.

Celebelly · 09/07/2019 16:21

Keep an eye out on John Lewis. We got ours for cheap cos they were obviously trying to sell off a certain colour! It was about £50 cheaper than the others in different colours.

theydontknowweknow · 09/07/2019 16:23

@Celebelly @homemadegin thank you both of you! First time mum so learning a lot, getting a cheap moses basket is a good idea just to keep in the living room

@theydontknowweknow

If you’ll have your pram indoors, use that as a downstairs Moses. Saves even more space.

I liked the next to me. Used it for 1st six months and was a dream for night feeding and comforting.

Moved away from the bed about 3 months as I think my tossing and turning woke my baby.

As others said, watch out for flash sales, colour changes etc as there’s always an offer somewhere reputable.

homemadegin · 09/07/2019 16:29

@theydontknowweknow also first time mummy, learning every day!

I don't know what others think, but maybe don't rush if your not sure. Moses basket fine to begin with, see what baby is like, how you are then chose.

I felt I rushed, or was rushed, into some things. Slings was another. People kept giving me them and I was hopeless. In the end went to a sling library, liked only the ergo and bought that. Much easier now she's bigger but I didn't like any when tiny.

theydontknowweknow · 09/07/2019 17:07

@glasshalfsomething yeah i'm thinking more ease for night feeds and I imagine it's much easier to see baby in the first few weeks when you're constantly worrying!

@homemadegin yeah we've seen one in the sale but if they're in the sale quite often then i'd rather wait until i'm 100% sure. My plan is also to go to a sling library, want to make sure i'm fully comfortable with one we would be buying!

@theydontknowweknow the chick to chick is in prime deals just now as are a couple of other next to me styles.

theydontknowweknow · 15/07/2019 11:56

Thank you @homemadegin I had a look this morning and noticed the Elegance one is, going to have a look at them
