Best test for early testers

Any suggestions for reliable and early testing?

I know first response and clearblue early detection do early tests however they both have very mixed reviews with some people saying they show false positives.

@fonxey

Hey how come you don't recommend the digitals?

They require a much higher level of HCG to get a positive - something like 50ml compared to 6ml on a First Response Early Results

@girlanonymous because they're just a gimmick. I did get a box and... well it didn't really tell me anything I didn't know. (That I was pregnant...)

From the multiple threads I see here people just seem to get really anxious and paranoid about them because one minute it tells them they're 2-3 and then 1-2 so immediately people jump to conclusions they will miscarry because their hcg levels are too low...

All these tests can really tell you is that you're pregnant. To me, they just play on people's emotions and obsessiveness over how pregnant you are. And unless you've been sleeping about and need to be certain who the daddy is... it isn't really relevant how many weeks pregnant you are. You just count back from the beginning of your last period and get a more accurate answer at your first scan.

Some people probably just like to see that word "Pregnant" on the screen. But really... that blue line is the same only cheaper.

I'm more annoyed since reading the threads on this forum, how manipulative some things like this are.

I mean, I even got the cb digi ovulation tests (and didn't learn my lesson there obvs) and they were RUBBISH. One minute I wasn't remotely fertile. Then I was super fertile. Then it told me I was almost fertile and then it said I wasn't. In the end, my cheap ov sticks were a lot more reliable because I could actually see the line going from zero to faint to really bold so I could tell from that (and bbt) whenabouts I ovulated.

TTC and pregnancy tests are a highly emotional and anxiety-inducing thing for women. And to me these things are playing on that.

Sorry for the long winded reply. Short of it is... waste of money.

You could save your money & test after your missed period (or a day before).. then there’ll be no squinting. The line will be obvious or not a all. I don’t know how all these people put themselves through staring at blank sticks from 7DPO Confused .. not to mention the cost, £10 for a pack of FRER!

That said, FRER seem the best by far reading on here. They pick quite early & so long as you read the result within the time frame on the box, false results are rare! The blue dye ones seem the worst..

IC and free picked mine up at 9dpo although the frer was darker than the IC. Wait until at least 13dpo to do a digi as they aren't as sensitive. Good luck

I was 2 days late and used the teacos own brand. Couldn't have come up more clear. It was only about 3quid I'm sure
