Hello

After miscarriage after miscarriage I finally got another BFP. I would be 7 weeks today. I am due to go for an early scan tomorrow (private clinic where I have been having fertility tests/treatment).

I am absolutely TERRIFIED to go and I just don't want to.

I have had no sickness what so ever, felt a bit 'icky' last week and the week before that but since Friday I have felt absolutely fine- do not feel pregnant at all.

I just know that I'll drive all that way tomorrow to be given bad news and I just don't think I'll take it very well.

I don't want to go and hear it but I know I have to.

Congratulations OP. I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly.

@user00119922 Yay! Actually did a little happy dance at my desk when I read this, so pleased for you Grin It's only natural to be anxious but you just need to keep the faith that you have a sticky little bean in there now!

Wishing you all the best xx

That's great news OP. Congratulations and all the best for your pregnancy going forward xx

@user00119922 I'm a bit late to the party but just wanted to say I'm so pleased the scan went well. I was terrified before my first EPU scan a few weeks ago after 4 miscarriages and had a meltdown on the nurse before the scan. Everything was fine for mine too and still going strong.

If you need some extra support, hop on to the pregnancy after loss group: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/3608075-The-Graduates-of-TTC-after-pregnancy-loss-thread?pg=36
We're all in the same boat.

Congratulations! I've been there as well, I was so sure I was having another MC but there was the baby looking perfect. I'm almost 15 weeks now, the first 12 were the hardest and I ended up having a scan every two weeks (6 weeks, 8 weeks, 10 weeks and 12 weeks) which really helped control my anxiety. Is that a possibility for you?

Good luck, really hope this is the one for you!

@InDreamland so nice to see that you're pregnant. Hope you're doing well and for you also I hope this is the one x

I'm so so pleased I joined Mumsnet! I love being able to talk to people and be supported without telling people in real life.

Yes I think I might have more frequent scans, might try to have one in 2/3 weeks time because the wait until the 12 week scan feels like decades away!

One day at a time op. I just lived from scan to scan, it was agonising. The time in between I spent feverishly doing crosswords etc not not give my brain time to fret about it. It gets much better when you start to feel the baby move, I wouldn't say I felt relaxed, but more frequently reassured.

InDreamland · 10/07/2019 08:42

@user00119922 congratulations on the scan! Fantastic news! Please do pop over to the thread that @KnitKitty posted. It's a wonderful support place for ladies in our situation.

@Kinsters lovely to hear from you. Hope you're well. Thank you. Just taking one second at a time. Pregnancy after loss is an anxious time. Glad to hear your pregnancy is progressing well too.

Kinsters · 10/07/2019 08:54

user definitely get the extra scans, it's such a long time to wait between them and the anxiety will probably start to increase the further away you are from the last scan, that's what I found anyway.

InDreamland Yep, just one second at a time is so right! I ended up having bleeding/spotting pretty much constantly until 12 weeks and then it suddenly stopped. I still check the tissue paper every time I go to the loo but am much more chilled out now than I was.

InDreamland · 10/07/2019 09:52

@Kinsters the 24 hour knicker watch really messes with the head. Good that the bleeding and spotting stopped. Fx we all make it to 40 weeks and have a healthy baby to bring home.

Just to say @user00119922 I know the feelings you've experienced, I had 3 miscarriages before I was able (with some medical help) to have my son. The first scan was around 7 weeks too and I had never been so nervous. He's now 2 and I'm about to have a little girl with the same treatment. Just to send a hug and congrats on your scan.
